It is, isn´t it !!!!!
So- you should hurry up, Milo! You will recognize lots of details while painting those figures . . .

Well, after 3 weeks of late delivery, I feel the constest is over for me unless Mithril can delay the deadline.
Painting MB560 in 2 next weeks without any week-end free is impossible...

So there is Master Thingol and myself left . . . ? Can´t believe that.
Who are the others hiding in the mists . . .

I started some undercoating yesterday evening, still, I do not want to haste and waste good painting just for a contest.
I will contact Michael to request some delay.

I´m seriously thinking to make me a Mithril Christmas present, and I´m between The unexpected party and the White council. If there will be a prolonged deadline for the contest, may I could have my council painted.
But it´s a remote opcion (I haven´t ordered it yet)
Anyway, I´ll love to see your works on that wonderful piece

Or maybe he painted everything in white

.... magic potion for me is in this moment free night and possibilities to sleep till 10,00 minimum because of I'm still in holiday... already 10 days... at home without any vacation trip ( saving money period )
we will soon see the results of a special commission to determine the taste in coloring... I guess that we mustn't left any pictures here before we sending them to Michael.... or before the competition ends...

It's rather odd to be wandering around at Home Depot and wonder to oneself "how would Elrond decorate?".
It's finally here, but I missed the post today, so I have to wait till tomorrow for delivery.
I do hope the contest is extended a bit...

so far I have painted the base... but I am slower than anybody when it comes to painting, still I really like this base
it is black marble with shades of dark grey, and the design on the floor is gold thinned... the whole thing is varnished using bight varnish to give the impression of polished black marble... all in all it is exactly how I have imagined it (in orthanc)... will send u pics

I definitely will not take part in this competition. Did I tell you before? I don't know. I don't even find that bit of time to take some pics of some conversions and a curiosity I want to place somewhere around here.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing all the results of your interpretations of that Council-vignette. Keep on everybody.

So my friend from Monpellier, you have take your choice. And you take the marble floor.
I am not quiete sure still. Though I made the decision not using the marble optic . . .
Though your description sounds very expectently.

I managed to paint the base floor yesterday's night ! I went to bed at 3 o'clock though....
Back in the contest now!
I chose also marble floor, but made 4 different kinds to hilights the rosace.
It just looks fantastic to me, which is already quite surprising as it was the first time I success in marble painting
Many thanks to Arthadan for the tutorial link! .

Well Master Archer, I was back in the Pony after I drunk 2 coffee at the office at 7:30 this morning.
I think tonight, it will be hard to paint without falling on the bed.

oh well that indeed changes my priorities... I had given up painting or taking time for that, now I MAY be able to make some progress though I am not a very skilled painter

I just have finished the base . . .
Time to overthink the base . . .

I have decided to paint some maps on the MB560 table.
Could any of our professionnal painters provide some clues on how to paint such small details ?
What kind of tool would you use ?
Offline
first I would draw the map, for that I would make a miniature of an existing map, print it and use it to draw the border with a very thin pen on the metal surface ... this way you have the drawing...
then with the drawing done you can use hues to give life to the maps and use thin pencils to make some runes or in this case I would use microscopic thin rotring ink pens
Offline
I will certainly also paint some maps. I can only give the advice to use a very thin brush. Without having a concrete idea . . .
