I'm more than interrested, even a little bit involved Master Archer bt I'm not at home and cannot come here as much as I would like !
Great conversions, great shield design and very impatient to see all together in desert !

I decided not only to re-paint but to re-convert some minis. In this case the Haradan Captain of the black serpent.
In the ent I was not satisfied that he holds a banner. Also there is another figure holding this banner, so I gave him a scimitar.
Finally he looks like this and there is already his place inside the whole scene . . .

in the ent ?

it looks fantastic also this way.
On my side, I could only manage to assemble my mumak, and add a thin 1st colored layer...too much rests after big meals!

. . I can tell, that I spend my free week "between-the-years" wise!

For example making the background . . . These are the different steps I want to show you . . .
If you experience to remember some "Petra" scene here, no worry, you are right!
. . . now I have to order these Phaeton-miniatures . . .

Master Turambar, thank you very much for providing those nice pics here. They give us a very nice insight in your way of creating a diorama.
So. Lukas water colours, very nice they are. I once used Horadam by Schmincke, which are quite similar, I think. But that again shows that you're a very skilled perfectionist. Keep on, please.

Looks really well this diorama.
I love the old arabean buildings behind miniatures, with this ciclopean column and the ruined arc.
I hope to see it finished as soon as possible
Congrats.

This is my last free day before returning at work.
I take this chance to take some test-photos of the whole scene- which is finished since one hour !
I show you a picture of the last conversion I did for this diorama. Already got its place inside the scenery . . .
I tried to gave him some kind of a "nubian-look". Impresive his "six-pac" . . .
The conversion contains the bottom of m75 - (m75a in this case! ) and the top of m382.
The original arm for the banner and a modified arm from m513 for the shield :

I can't wait to see all setlled.

I think all of us are impatient for the final result
Like a lot the drawings and outlines of the project. That attention to the details explains a lot the wonderful results you achieve in your scenes

OK then,
really a lot of work has been done!
After seing those amazing conversions my Master M.M - shared by Master Theobald- I made the decision that I want to have a real Harad-diorama.
That was somewhere in October 2010.
I was a present guest on ebay that time, swearing that this would be the last time! Thanks to Master mjach at this place !!!!!
It was possible to get all the figures I long for. It was also possible to get the visi -which I gave away for years- for a very convenient price.
Making all these conversions that way was extremely toilsome and I will leave those kind of conversions in future.
The ways for having a real sophisticated result are often very frustrating. And very expensive!
( the mounted visi-conversion wasted four figures! Thanks at Master Milo at this place! )
Still- this diorama is a compromise! Unfortunately! Figures are missing . . .
Sometimes some waiting-loops are too long and you have to tear the ripcord. Otherwise this diorama would have been finished never . . .
So- as far as it is possible in this "dark" country I would like to present to you :
T H E B L A C K S E R P E N T S
. . . meeting at the old ruin town where the harad-road starts for going towards Gondor! Following the voice of their master . . .
I hope you like it.

Amazing job, master archer. The composition, the conversions, the paint job, the drawing in the back... marvelous
And i agree with master Milo: the yellow light in the third picture enhances the desert sensation
Waiting for your next project

Well, Master Turambar, about the size of the pics, maybe you re-sized them too much while uploading? - The one you sent me was so much better (though it definitely was the same pic), because it reveiled so much more about all those details and your way of painting the figures.

As I was asked several times in different places I wnat to show the sketchbook parts. In this case two pages,
as the Easterlings-project was born out of the Haradrim-project . . .
PS: Master Theobald may I corect you. The watercolours are made from Schminke. Only the box is from Lukas.
