Many Mithril Pages @ Faerylands

A really old diorama on a wargaming table depicting the defense of Mirkwood against the attacks of Dol Guldur Orcs, trolls, werewolves and Mirkwood spiders. This table has modular terrain which looks each more natural than the photos will show. The pictures are 'historical' to me as the table does not exist any more in that form as I needed to restore it- the exhibitions had left serious damage.

I enjoyed much painting the freehands on the Elven banners. I felt this banners more appropriate to Elves and Tolkiens artwork, which is the base for creating the banners. In the movies' concept, these were the heraldics of Galadriel, who supports Thranduils defense against the overwhelming forces of Dol Guldur. Tolkien elaborated the heraldry of the houses of the Elves quite well.
Anyway I must say that Mithril Elves come closest to my imagination of Middle Earth Elves and played even a part in imagining them.
