A Long Expected Party

I will need to wait for the weekend to take some photos in daylight, but I have finally got over my 'LotR' hurdle, namely A.L.E.P.!

It has also been a good excuse to finally get a lot of pesky Hobbits painted and out of the way so I can now move on to the next scene on my agenda.

I didn't feel ambitious enough to go for the marquee (sounded like too much hard work) so I went instead for the Shire-folk arriving at the Party Field and being greeted by Bilbo Baggins Esq.

The eagle-eyed among you will note that ther are no steps leading from the lane and the gate is missing a gate post. The latter will be added, the former .......

I hope you like.

Me too. Absolutely.

Maybe the magic was the most powerful force in the world. But that was long ago.
The dragons are gone, the giants are dead and the children of the woods are forgotten.

Re: A Long Expected Party

A wonderful scene and a brilliantly chosen combination of figures, Master Ddaines. - And yes, I would also very much like to see more pictures of this vignette.

I love mithril hobbits and I love your scenes, so... I double love this piece (even if you didn´t put a little marquee there smile )

Re: A Long Expected Party

Hello all, glad to see you like the scene (sorry there is no marquee Master Elroi big_smile). I am trying to post some more images but seem to have a download problem at the moment so will try again tomorrow.

Master Sam Wise, go for it wink make the scene for yourself (and add a marquee for Elroi lol).

I don't know if we need something like that in our lovely Shire, but why not?
(the most important is that I've a lot of Hobbits to paint !yikes )
