I know this has nothing to do with Tolkien nor Mithril, but I just wanted to share some of my work on 54mm
As I have quoted in the past, I really like some of the Andrea Miniatures figurines, so I bought some and painted them
So far I think they're the best figurines I have painted in years... I hope you don't mind me sharing them here...
I finished this one just yesterday evening :

Beautiful fantasy painting grate to have in all collection for all fantasy collectors... I have also 54 mm miniatures, but history soldiers from Romans till Medieval...

Very impressive Gildor! Interesting looking fellows these are.
But I have to say I do mind you showing these pics. They remind me of the 80mm figures I have started years and years ago and only one is finished.
Maybe in the future I will finish them.....maybe...
Is this now the place to post non Mithril painted figures?
Offline
well, indeed if you think I should erase them that's fair... I myself was unsure if they had their place around here...since not tolkien nor mithril related, I just did not have any other place to post them
and since I saw there was pictures from other brands in this part of the forum too...
but ok, I'll remove them...

Not at all! Don't you dare erase them. I always enjoy to see painted figures, no matter who produced them.
The question regarding this place to post non Mithril painted figures was not a choke!
I think it is a good idea to have a sektion to post pics of painted minis not mithril related.

mmhh that's a total conversion, right mistress wendy?
but I like it, except she has too much "cloth" on her upper torso I prefer mine... (for the sculpting)
about their names, yes it is Ithandir the dual-blade elf, and Leogante tha angel
There is also Belpheegor the shadow-knight, Ainariel the archer as you mentionned
and the recent one which I like the most : the elven wizard Sulnar
as for putting picture of other brands, well in the description of the category 'gallery of mayor samwise' it is not said if it has to be mithril... I suppose that provided it is Fantasy, it could be ok?

I have no objection. After all, they probably wouldn't exist without the influence and popularity of the works of Tolkien.

Sure it is OK – we are now forewarned, forearmed, and protectively armored to see ... non-mithrils (gasp!) here ...

hey it's not supposed to be a rule either to post non-mithril I actually took pictures of all the non-mithrils I had (these 5 andrea figurines are the only non-mithril, non-C.Tubb figurines I have....) and posted them in a single post to avoid spreading too much out of subject pictures
Now I just wanted to share and possibily have a comment on them if you want, that's all

They look unusual, but wonderful, and are indeed worth posting!

Very nice Wendy and Gildor!
As mentioned before.... keep posting!

I think your idea of posting those pics here is all right and I enjoyed seeing them. A wonderful paint-job. All these details ... I envy your skills.
As for the figures themselves ... yes, of course they're different from Chris' figures.

I know I revive a very old thread... but it is on purpose (in order not to duplicate threads..) My wife recently convinced me to go back to work and after some very bad lack of motivation and bad mood I tried to get back on the work I was working on, last years.... more than 4 months ago.. I managed to finish the figurine yesterday and took some pics today in order to show you and have your comments or feedback... the pics are not very very smooth due to a lack of natural light... but I hope it is enough to have an opinion...
Indeed I am far from being expert like Turambar, Cameosis, Wendy, David or Nino... I used very few "dry brush" techniques but rather some "lavis" and "glacis" (don't remember the words in english sorry... that's when you use VERY diluted paint flooding first, then more precisely and less diluted..going from base color then shadowing, and then lighting up...
well enough talking, please give me some feedback (please note this is a 54mm reference from Andrea Miniatures, always the same series as the first posts, from Warlord Saga, name is "Daramis, Healing Light"

Les ombres sont légères, pas trop fortes (comme je les aime ), les couleurs bien choisies, les détails soignés, la peau réussie.
Je trouve ça très beau. Bref tu n'as rien à envier à personne ici!

My comment is: How is possible that you could claim that you do not know how to paint.... ! I think this is enough !
.... Laisser tomber le ciel sur la tête, si celle-ci n'est pas vrai .... ( google translator

Well, Master Gildor this is a really amazing miniature! And really well painted!
I follow the words from Milo amd Thingol, though my french is really bad . . .
Keep on please and beware the spirit.

54mm too... but mounted...

Master Gildor, you shouldn't paint if you think it's hard!
Rather put your mind to expect it to be very easy to paint, then it'll flow and you'll have another great painted mini for your collection!
You can do it!

I only buy and paint some of them though they are all very well sculpted, some are simply not my 'kind' and since I don't like painting orcs, or wild things, or too crude bodies.... I prefer knightly armors, mages... angels...

Ah, I saw the green posted on the Spanish Team forum. It is a very nice figure.
The pics are a little dark, but you paint fine Master Elf. You might enjoy some of the figure shows in France.
I rarely drybrush at all anymore. Glazes (or juices, or...there really isn't a good word in english) are better for control of the color(s).
