Clear water for the tree, then, and, er, brown 'water' for the Ranger. I shall be interested indeed to hear of the plan in due course.

Re: The Taproom

fact is... you don't have to convince Chris... you have to convince Lars... As I said elsewhere, Chris is not responsible for the release of his work being put "on hold", be it past work, or future work....

Re: The Taproom

I would like to know what you think is better?
I'm unsure to where to start the topic "How to identify fake Mithril's"
Should the topic be only accessable by members of MMP, or should our guests also be able to read it?
The question occurs, if I describe detailed what you have to look at to see if it is a fake or a original, what I intend to do, someone who intents to copy and sell Mithrils can read what he/she has to do to make it less ovious that it is a fake...hmm
Please let me know what all of you think!
Thanks

Re: The Taproom

Before the Master of the Casts can tell you this, Nino, first there must be a solution where and HOW to put this topic, as Holger just pointed out!  smile

Re: The Taproom

Master Thingol, the M number is not important. The aspect on what to look at and what to look for is important.

Re: The Taproom

Nino, I will have a closer look at my 11/12 and 13, so I can give you a answer specific to those figs.

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... as you asked, Master Caster, I think your thread should be restricted and not being broadcasted for everyone ... huom ... you already mentioned that providing details about this matter might just help those, who want to pirate figures ... gruuoohhmmm ... and this shouldn't be the forum to help those thieves .... huom ... so that's one thing ... hom

I agree entirely. Those who know how to forge won't need any help, but we should do what we can to prevent anyone else from learning how to deceive!

Re: The Taproom

huoommm ... as for your entry, Master Gildor, I still don't know what to think of all this ... and how to comment ... huom ... let me try, please ...
Yes, we all know that Chris is not at all responsible for the production of Mithril figures  ... right, it's Lars Edman ... so far that always was clear to me .... huoommm ... so far I just didn't get the sense of collecting new ideas for further releases ... what for? ... let Chris sculpt more figures or series that will end up at a workbench or in some shelves - unreleased? ... huoommm ... or having them lined up behind the other non-released releases? ... the last thought seems to be quite ridiculous, doesn't it? ...
huoomm ... anyway, let's take it as a fact that I clearly don't understand all this .... sorry

Re: The Taproom

to Master Caster........ as prevention send me PM for answer about those figures.... thanks smile

and about mithril production... logical is that owner of the company has his own business policy but it could put mithril production into a little bit flexible frame smile isn't it !

Re: The Taproom

well there is an answer master ent.
Chris is not the person in charge of releasing or casting figurines but he is the sole person who choses WHAT will the next range be.... Helm's deep was his decision for example.... Lars gives him total freedom on what to do for mithril but he is just afraid that it won't sell and so... he delays production...
if Chris takes his suggestions from us, then Chris has proof enough to convince Lars that these will sell if not by the thousands at least to enough people to make it worth.... Because the ideas would be what we may have suggested and so it is a kind of feedback prior to sculpting...

after all this idea is not mine at all I did not suggest it to the man myself he suggested it himself out of nothing...
but now this topic should be handled elsewhere, it would be wiser to put all of it in Angrenost...

Re: The Taproom

Hello Gildor, you are correct in your comments. But the question isn't whether Chris can make something happen (and we shouldn't under-estimate his influence with Lars), it is whether he thinks it would be a good idea. One step at a time, I think. I should have waited to comment.

Re: The Taproom

Holger, I am not sure if anyone has responded about your topic of how to identify a Mithril fake, but I think you have a good idea. Unless Gildor wants the thread somewhere else, perhaps it should go in the Marketplace of Tharbad, that is where the other related threads started/were moved to. Gildor has said this area of MMP is restricted to members.

Good thinking. That's certainly the most logical place for it to be.

Re: The Taproom

So, the latest newsletter gives us firm(-ish) news of Helm's Deep 2 at last, for release (theoretically) 'later this year', which must therefore mean within the next four months. Excellent. And the promise of news on the White Council as well. Even better. So there are such things as miracles...

Re: The Taproom

being the 'advocatus diaboli':
another mistake by mithril: not a mere M-figure for more than a few months and then 2 large releases at one time????
They need to knwo, that customers might find it easier to spend a small amount of money regularly instead of a whole bunch of cash once.

p.s.: i am not sure if i am really back
