Re: The Taproom

It would certainly be nice if it appeared by Yuletide, but considering Mithril's recent track record so far as meeting promised release deadlines goes, my cynical mind is thinking "Hmmm, I'm not putting any money on it..."

Re: The Taproom

This lad from Down Under seems to make a lot of people around here very happy . . . roll

Time for him to win the "glittering prize"  . . . (isn´t that a song performed by Simple Minds somewhere in the eighties . . . )

Re: The Taproom

Agreed re the generosity of the feller Down Under, but not regarding Simple Minds - like the 'eighties, they're best forgotten.

The drinks are on Milo...

What, we've all got to share one drink? Do we at least each get our own straw?

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... I think I got it right by now, Master Barliman ... huomm ... no tree, no mud on rugs, right? ... which means there'll be no need for having them rugs any more, right? ... huom ... spares me that cleaning-thing, by the way ... hom ... so, I can stay outside, in case I will be served through one of the front windows of your nice premises ... Huommm ... I don't mind, as I'm very well used to have my roots being soaked up sometimes ... rhuom ... alright

Re: The Taproom

Staying outside would actually be quite traditional, Master Tree. The original meaning of the term 'bar', as it applies to alehouses, was literally that - a bar across the doorway; you bought your scrumpy, and you took it home or drank it outside. At least, so my brother once informed me, and he used to be into drinking in a large way in his youth (well, he was a student for five years or more, so what do you expect?).

Re: The Taproom

In many places with good weather continues the tradition of the bar outside the establishment. I know many of them. In Lothlorien, where it is always Spring, could you try to open a "bar" with its bar, and serve "tapas" as requested by me. Perhaps Bree have rainy days more than normal. Approaching modern times and businesses must adapt to them ....

What I do not know is if there is a barrow near Lothlorien where I can rest after a long swig of beer ......roll
