Re: The Taproom

It's six in the morning, and I've been up since 4:30. Bloody weird Canadian election nightmares.

Don't ask.

Might spend half an hour painting soon as its light, though.

How is everyone beyond that?

Well enough, but trying to scrape together some coiny things so that I can start to buy some of my obligatory quota of Fellowship figures (I'm falling a little behind...)

Re: The Taproom

Huooommmm ... as you just mentioned the Fellowship figures, Master Barliman, ... huoomm .... I just tried to recall the number of those MS-releases .... rhuoommm .... must be more than 24 by now I think .... hom ... that also means that a second free MS-figure should see the light by now ... huommm ... do I remember correctly?

I'm fine, Master Gavin .... huoommmm

Re: The Taproom

Twenty-nine finished in fact, so I guess that means no special figure for those members who bought the entire year's figures this time! Not that it affects me, because I didn't buy them all anyway, but it seems odd for Mithril to do it one year and then not do it the next. Of course, the problem might simply be that The Man hasn't had the time to produce one!

Re: The Taproom

what about the 3rd Troll as a special gift figure?? Would be nice if Chris & Mithril would do that.

Re: The Taproom

Wasn't the Gandalf figure recently shown supposed to be the next 'freebie'? Or is he for something else?

Re: The Taproom

ah well I thought the Gandalf was the Mithril 20th anniversary figurine. it's true that we saw no news about it lately maybe we should ask Michael

Re: The Taproom

Just curious is anyone is planning on entering the painting contest?

I do know if I'm going to be able to...time is slipping away...  I keep waiting for some more fellowship releases so I can make my big order.  Does anyone stateside have the Knights yet?

I still don't have my Dol Amroth chaps - and I'm afraid my painting isn't good enough anyway!

Like a fool.... Yes big_smile, but at the moment I am still largely otherwise engaged in home improvements sad. I am recreating a scene from the good book that does feature another character.

Progress so far is: The base is cut, some grass stuff is ordered, and the horses are almost painted (minus the boring bits, i.e. the harness), I just need to get in some Me time to crack on with them.

At the moment I haven't any of the foot soldiers, though when I do though I'm hoping to utilise them with the D.A. vignette and then that's D.A. out of the way and painted.

Re: The Taproom

Hey Wendy, I haven't purchased them yet either, waiting to place a large order, and hoping the dollar strengthens against the Euro. Its hard to pay so much for these, even if they are the excellent works of Chris. But, alas, I have already spent way to much to complete my collection, so I can't stop now!

Re: The Taproom

Huoomm ... what about this incoherent confusion around here .... rhuooommm .. All I need is a bowl of that clear clean water ... rhuoommm ... of course I could spend some of that coiny things for that, Master Barliman ... you should know ... huom . ... though it always depends on the currency of what you might regard as coiny-enough metal pieces ... rhuoomm
so, just a bowl of clear-clean water, please, if you don't mind .... rhuoomm ...
yes, yes, yes ... rumours have become less, meseems ... huoom ... such concern facts ...
ahem, could you please top up that bowl, Master Barliman?

Ney, Mistress Wendy, I will not take part in any painting-contest, as my painting-skills are poor and me time is too much limited ... rhuoommm ... unfortunately, so to say .... hom ... I would rather more enjoy painting certain metal things than have to enjoy the pleasure to have to put other things first ... rhuoommmm .... if you know what I mean .... huooommmrhuoommm.

Re: The Taproom

On another matter entirely, if I ever find this msLourena person - an Orc, I imagine, judging from his taste in "literature" - who keeps leaving obscene messages scrawled on the walls of the Pony, I shall kick his butt into next week. The rest of him may follow later when I can get Nob to sweep the bits into a neat pile.

Re: The Taproom

The problem is it's so dark in here that I can't see the customers, they can't see the bar, and I can't see them helping themselves to drinks when I'm not looking.

I think, though, that the real problem is that there's so little activity at the moment on the new releases front. Although Fellowship figures are beginning to materialise we've all known about them for months, there are no new rumours, and The Man hasn't put up anything interesting on eBay or in his recent messages to his correspondents. Ergo, very little to talk about! There are also so many little rooms scattered about this establishment that some people spend most of their time in other places than the common room!

The till is nigh on empty/

Huooommm ... so three we are ... huommm ... Master Barliman often forgets about the Man in the Dark being present, meseems. ... hom ... or taking me as some kind of house plant ... hom.
So, cheers Master Ddaines ... just a nip I can afford as I've decided to go chasing rumours ... huoomm ... hom.

Cheers, dear fellows. Back in the main room again. Any news about the mysterious new creations by the Man, the Phaeton, the Son of Helios?

Re: The Taproom

Rhuoommm ... none, Master Protozeus ... huoomm ... none ... oh by the by those creations as you liked to call it are not mysterious ... huoommm ... but who is the son of the sun? ...

as for you Master Barliman, ... huoommm ... right you are ... we should have a common room in the Prancing Pony where to meet first ... huoomm ... as in old days ... so there's no need to keep them smaller rooms scattered around your establishment tidy ... rhuoomm ... might save some time for a busy barkeep .... hom ... alas ... doing that you might even come across those hibernating rotten wargskins ... rhuoommm ...

Not mysterious to you, wise Master Ent. But me - I am still uncertain what to expect next from his private line of master pieces ...

Re: The Taproom

Rhuoommm ... those which were announced for late September did not appear ... rhuom ... otherwise we would have been informed by The Man himself .... hom ... I'm sure about this ... so still there are two options he keeps ... a  further Pm or a second set of the dwarves .... huoomm ...  but as we know this is his way of handling matters as far as they're not right in focus at his workbench... rhuoommmhom ... I can accept that, as it keeps the customers in the Pony a bit busy or even keeping their interests afar from them liquids ... rhuooommm ... as for the regular M-releases no one talks about them (by now should have been finished) Easterling army ... sorry, "army" is a word TE would not appreciate very much .... rhuoomm .... on the other hand I have to accept that The Man has been very busy for quite a while now ... hom rhuoommm ... having a look at the fascinating "Teutoburger Wald - vignettes and additional figures might give an idea of his business ... I think .... rhuoommtodomhuom ...
