Huoommmm ... alas ... Master Ddaines ... I nearly forgot. Because of that Imrahil. No, there'll be no risk being away the next two weeks ... huommm ... the master figure arrived at the factory yesterday ... hom .. that means the mould-maker can start his work by now ... rhuoomm.

Re: The Taproom

There's nowt wrong with the rugs, so you let them be. And of course you're not here alone. The Ranger is still lurking in one of the corners somewhere. But if you need me just holler - I'm in and out these days, but I'm always in one room or another. It takes a lot of dashing about with trays, but I'm not getting any thinner. I think I must have put your bowl down in one of the parlours - I'll go and look for it.

Re: The Taproom

Huuoommmm .... stop, Master Barliman ... don't haste, please ... rhuomm ... of course I'm aware of the ranger ... hom ... but, well, to be honest, methinks that the matter of not becoming thinner might be caused by the fact that the ways you have to take cross the kitchen ... huooom.
rhuooommm ... in case you find that bowl somewhere, would you top it up, please? ..... huom.
But don't haste ... I'm patient and enjoying the silence in this taproom ..... rhuoommmmm.

Re: The Taproom

Well I am off now for a couple of weeks, basking in the Sun (hopefully). Keep the home fires burning Barli, and a stool at the bar.

The Corsairs are painted and pictures sent, will they win? Who knows, but it's been a damn fine incentive to paint them - the fastest I have ever painted a series; that normally takes about 10 - 15 years to do lol

See y'all in a couple of weeks.

Dave.

p.s. Thanks for the info regarding Imrahil Master Ent it comforts me to know, unless Mithril do the unexpected and release on schedule.

Re: The Taproom

Hello Masterr Tree, yes I am here often. But lately my wanderings have taken me away from the Pony for days at a time. Still, I should be around more often in the next few days, as I have promised Master Gildor that I would do some research for him, and that has been quite awhile ago, so i am feeling the need to keep my word.

Nob? Oh, there you are. Be a good fellow and bring me another pint of ale while I smoke and look over these old books. My Tab? Yes, Nob, just add it to my tab--I'm sure Barli won't mind.

Re: The Taproom

Very quiet again. Not even Master Ent is in for a bowl of water. Oh well, at least Nob is here to serve the guest. Thank you very much for the scumpy Nob, very dry again after all that rain. Its just nice to sit here accompanied by a scrumpy and staring in the fire. Thanks Nob I'm all right, just a little tired after hanging up all those pictures in the other rooms.

Re: The Taproom

The problem is there's nothing new to report at the moment, and when there is it often gets voiced in one of the other parlours rather than here in the taproom.

One thing I can report is that I finally got my Corsairs yesterday after a considerable delay (thereby hangs a tale), and aren't they good? Definitely some of The Man's very best work. Mind you, I hadn't realised until now that some of them are veritable multi-part kits! I could do without that - the more bits there are to stick on, the more bits there are to break off, and the figures become inordinately fragile to handle, especially on a wargame table. But that's a small criticism compared to the very real pleasure of having some new Mithril 'M's to enjoy.

So, Dol Amroth next, I guess?

Re: The Taproom

Five minute Epoxy, Barliman, five minute epoxy.

You get the thingie on with that stuff, and it stays on unless you go to some trouble to pull it off. Add in a bit of super glue into the mix and it sticks faster, so it works much the same as super glue on its own.

If the figures are multi-part, then it stands to reason that there's lots of room for conversion, which is good.

Re: The Taproom

Holger I thought about something? would you mind making a little illustrated article about the art of mould making, and of reverse mould making with some pics? I'm sure that could be an interesting article smile

Re: The Taproom

well, making a mould using a master which is already a casting... well I suppose?

Re: The Taproom

I suppose I can put something together regarding the process of producing a mould from a master (green) and a production mould for spinncasting

Re: The Taproom

well it depends if people are interested in that or not indeed. That was just a suggestion smile

I am interested.

I do have access to a spin machine, but I'd probably need a lot more stuff to get that far.

Re: The Taproom

well I bought all the warforge elf series and I had quite some fun casting figurines, but I lack knowledge besides that... I know how to cast, that's all...
Actually this warforge was cool but they did not made more references with them so if I could make my own that would be great... most of all to make conversions myself, not to deteriorate or spoil my rare originals which both deserve painting but also deserve remaining untouched... if you see what I mean
