Re: The Taproom

So I sit in the office and enjoy the MMP site. Today is a bit slow day. I write slowly my Ph.D and create new images in my head with the question, which I will Mithril beauty paint this weekend !?!?!?!??!?!?
No director and Master Caster is right when he says "Always the same, the cat is out of the house and the mice are dancing on the tables" ....as almost no one is in Institute today we are free to google.... I just decided. This weekend I will finish MB422 smile

I am still at work also, Master Thingol. But my mother-in-law informed me, that Wodka don´t leave that typical alcoholic smell ! roll
She is a wise woman . . .
But today I actually prefers fruit-drinks. I have to fill up my vitamins for painting lots of figures . . .

Re: The Taproom

Ah, 'real life' crisis is over, and I'm back.....only to find that the place is empty! Perhaps I'll just kick Nob up and down the room to pass the time until someone turns up.

Re: The Taproom

Welcome back Master Barkeep. I hope you had a good time.
Finerly the self service is over and I can order my drinks again. That up and down all the time is just to much hassle.

Re: The Taproom

the crisis is over, you survived, so it wasen't that bad at all and I'm sure there was something to learn from whatever has happened and so we grow after every crisis and I believe this is a good thing!
And before I forget it, the next round goes on me!

Re: The Taproom

Er, no thanks, I have quite enough already, what with work and poor health. I clearly need to drink more.

Doess anyone have any preferences or want to take any bets on who will win the GF poll? It's a real neck-and-neck race this month.

Re: The Taproom

well beechbone or Arvedui are ok for me smile though I admit I'd prefer seeing Arvedui somehow, he has been submitted before and the description I gave could be quite original... If it's a draw I am more than certain that Michael, instead of letting Chris pickup his own choice, will let the vote continue until there's a winner .... and will invoke some kind of unavailability of him to close the vote wink

Re: The Taproom

And I could live with either as well, Beechbone or Arvedui. Master Gildor, you and I have nominated him many times. I hope that if he wins, Chris will tuck at least one palantir in his robes, or have him hold it under an arm.

Re: The Taproom

that would be fitting indeed Tom smile
though the palantir of Anuminas, if I remember well, was a bigger one... and maybe not easy to carry "by hand", like the Orthanc or Minas Anor/Tirith one...
Maybe the palantir of Amon Sul then?

Re: The Taproom

The Osgiliath and Amon Sûl palantiri were the biggest palantiri. A single man could not lift them, as stated in Unfinished Tales. The others: Orthanc, Minas Anor, Minas Ithil, Annúminas and Elostirion were smaller ones.  Beyond was the main palantir of Tol Eressëa.
The Annúminas palantir is perhaps Arvedui can carry under your arm.wink

Re: The Taproom

Well the official end-time for voting is past, and it looks like King Arvedui has won by a single vote. What will be interesting now is to see how many late votes materialise before Michael officially 'closes' the poll tomorrow.

Re: The Taproom

Yes Gildor, it would have to be the Palanir of Annuminas; this was the cheif palantir of the North Kingdom. Arvedui, which literally means "last king" in the Sindarin, would have tried to save this heirloom over any other.

So thank you Gildor, it would be fitting if the palantir of Annuminas (The Tower Of The Sun) was included as a part of this figure.

Re: The Taproom

Almost predictably, a late vote has come in to make the result a draw again, so let's hope Michael does 'the right thing' and pays attention to Gildor's post of 5:49 to see that Arvedui was the REAL victor.
