Thanks Christophe,
Oins my favourite too. This minatures is also the nicest dwarf in all range for me, so I always find easier to paint it.

A colleague showed me today pictures of real eagles he shot (with his camera) during his holidays:
My goodness...I have to work much more on my 10 eagles...
Offline
It is a short-toed eagle. Very nice pics .....

I'm not sure, look at its claws...color is different for the one on wiki.
Anyway, I posted these pictures to show how I would love my eagles to look. But I fear it will take me monthes to reach such fine feathers...
Still, I'm in no hurry except I am sometimes borred by this unfinished diorama

The two photos on the left I think are of a Black Kite (I don´t know if I write well in English.....)

The right one is a short-toed eagle. Sure. I like birds of prey .....
However, as mentioned Master Milo, it has some pretty colors. By having the gray head contrasts with the rest of the body .....

Huomm ... whatever names them birds of prey are given in whatever language ... wonderful paint-job indeed ... though the diorama in the second picture doesn't really please me at all

Wonderful job. I like it, the colors, everything, and I prefere Oin too. I am impatient to see your finished diorama.
Having worked in a falconry, I can spend you photos of eagles. Here are some of them, if you want it the others I can spend them on your mp.
The most known, the white-headed eagle
Here a young eagle "batteleur" in french
And here,Just to see various plumages, A vulture "fauve" :
I hope, there can help you. Plumage is very difficult to paint, good luke for your 10 eagles. But those that I saw are already very well painted

Birds of prey.... my all favorite thing!

As my orginal idea is finisihed, I went this morning on a special place (much higher than my hill) to take pictures.
I am currently gathering it and hopefully, you'll see new topic "The carroc" opening today.
Of course, once Nori is at my home, I will paint him and add new pictures. Don't sress Holger, I need a break after this painting session.

Aha, you are right! I have met nearly all birds of pray in the old continent in this past 4 years. I will try to upload some of my own pictures of wild specimens for inspiration.... I dont like very much falconry though...

Today, I acheived my 1st mithril painting using Non-Metallic Metal technique.
Not completely satisfied by precision but I quite like the rendering.
So I added few pictures of it in my gallery.

Any advice for improvement is welcome.
