Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Has everyone given up drinking at the Pony? Oh well, I've managed to find some of Barli's hidden treasures . . . regarding ale and pipe-weed, that is ;-)

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

I'm sure everyone will be back when there's anything new to discuss. After all, it's midwinter here in Bree, and sitting by your own blazing log fire at home is far preferable to crunching through inches of snow to get to the Pony - especially if you're a hobbit with bare feet! It's all right for you Rangers with your huge, thick, fur-lined boots.

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Mithril actually showing any initiative is impressive! This is a good offer, price and figure wise.

Oh how I wish the Mithril DA figures had been available when I painted my Dol Amroth wargame army! But alas they weren't - and I don't have the time to paint a replacement army... It's hard enough finding time to paint regiments once, let alone twice. Bummer.

Huoommm ... I'm always present, as Master Twrich also is ... rhuommm ... as for the midwinter in Bree at the moment I guess it's better to stay inside ... huoomm ... though ... to be honest ... ahem, as for that nice blazing log fire you mentioned, Master Barliman, I hope you do feed it with dead wood of which life went off some years ago ... rhuoommm ... we Ents call it "Ent-bones" which, once lighted properly and then kept burning give away some warmth and flickering light ... rhuoomm ...
er, besides, what about offering me a bowl of that clear-clean-non-sparkeling-honey-coloured-liquid with that appely-taste that you use to serve at this, your very-well-known and very much recommended premises, called The Prancing Pony ... huomm?

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Well, we certainly wouldn't try to burn wet bones, Master Tree. (See song "Dem bones, dem bones, dem dry bones...." etc, sung lustily whist roasting one's chestnuts on or before a roaring fire - carefully).

And I'm sure we could find you a bowl of amber-coloured fluid of some sort, so long as you're not particular.

The snow is but a dusting in this part of Bree thus far, though to the north and the south-west it's piling up nicely (well, nicely if you like skiing). Let's see what the morning brings.

Good morning

Master Barliman, I am not a regular client but I really appreciate your ale. A pint please and here is some coiny stuff.
I plan to move to Salute2013 in London on 20th April (http://www.salute.co.uk/salute/salute-2013/) and then to Cork to visit PrinceAugust, is anyone else intend to go to Salute event?

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

huuoommm ... Master Mornedhel, this tavern never is as empty or abandoned as it might seem to be ... rhuoomm ... mind the Man in the Dark, please ... huoomm ... yes indeed, a kind of "self-service" might be welcome to keep the premises running for a while still ... huoomm ... so you drop coiny-things behind the counter and I drop the ale in front of it ... rhuoomm ... don't take me serious, please, I'm just an Ent helping out ... rhuoommm ...

I have not been to Salute since 2008 when they gave away the Wolfrider.

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Hi everyone,

Master Barliman, I think it's been quite a long time since I came here for 3rd Breakfast. Do you have any food left for a hungry hobbit ?
Regarding Salute event in london, I will be in holland a week later and doubt I can manage 2 weeks off work & Home. hmm

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

I've never been to Salute at all, though I've heard good opinions of it. Never seem to have the time!

Master Milo, I'm sure you've already had three breakfasts - you just eat them so quickly that you don't notice.

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Ah yes, the sun is past the yardarm, as we say here (though I don't know why, because Bree is hundreds of miles from the sea...), so it's time for a long, cool, amber-coloured drink. I'll join you.
