I write military stuff – these days largely 19th century, but I've meandered through various historic periods at different times.

Too bad...nothing to do with eating nor drinks...

Australia has delicacies? Really? Fosters is OK, and the shrimps are OK, but I'm not sure about anything else.

Congratulations, Master Barliman! I don´t know whether to congratulate you for your book or free round .....

Yes, Master Thingol, kangaroo steak does exist and it is very nice meat. You also can have crocodile, if it doesn't get you first. Very traditional for Australia would be Vegimite, which is very healthy, but the most terrible thing I've ever tasted!

On my side, the most terrible thing I've ever tasted is .... Marmite !

Here in Istra has a restaurant that has on the menu, crocodile, ostrich and kangaroo meat....
I wonder whether there might be from Australia... in one and the same arrangement....

You can get the same meats in delicatessens here in Bree, though I've not encountered anyone who's bought them. Strangely, the only time I ate kangaroo was in the US - I guess it must have worn water-wings and hopped a bit too far.
