Re: THE TAPROOM 2

I just re read the LoTR passage. this scene happens precisely as the VERY LAST scene of the "gondor/mordor" battle part of the lord of the rings, just before Pippins shouts "the eagles are coming!" (after having slain the troll in front of a fallen Beregond)

Really this is a great vignette with a lot of characters like none had been done since the death of Theoden (in quantity of figurines! I count Four living including  troll,Beregond, Pippin and a Dol Amroth footman and at least two dead bodies one of which is gondorian footman)

An incredible piece of work.

My bank account is weeping at me. But I suspect I shall have to go own it soon.

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Astonishing, and the first sight I've had of it! It's way more than I was expecting, and encapsulates the entire incident just as I'd always imagined it. The Man was clearly in an inspired mood when he was working on this one, and let his enthusiasm run away with him. Brilliant. But as you say, Master Elf, I shudder to think what it will cost. We can only wait and see...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

F*********ing Hell (scuse my language), but this is a masterpiece in all senses of the word - Barli, in celebration you should stand us all a round of free ale until it is released.

I'd best get selling some of my unwanted bigger (non Mithril wink ) kits on evilbay. Be proud, be very proud lol

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

I have to admit this caught me off guard when I opened the thread - I had to look twice to realise it was a Mithril release - I just wasn't expecting something like this to appear on the page big_smile

Only after looking again does the detail sink in and the realisation that it is a Mithril piece. big_smile

Just when I was saying it had been 2 years since the last True Vignette!!!! this is a masterpiece!! I just hope it won't be sold at ... a master price.... (this vignette is as big and complex as Sauron at Gorgoroth which costed 69€ back in years when mithril was practicing fair prices...)

I hope you like it and are  quite proud of it master Innkeeper!

This one and new Christmas figure.... many magnificent news for today.... smile smile smile smile smile smile

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

WHAT?!
WOW !!! This is awesome!!!!! I had never expect such a figure representing my beloved Easterlings, never in my wildest dreams.
This is something like a secret wish comes truth!
The MAn hits exactly the look of the figure I don´t know how it would look like . . .
Absolutely TOP !!!!!

PS: The Man seems to be in his best form at present . . .

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

OH NO!
It would have been better NOT to go back to the last page. I haven´t seen this vignette !!!
That means I would have had a really peaceful night.

But now . . .

PS: I quote myself: The Man seems to be in his best form at present . . .  . . .

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

mmh a troll hero he is not smile I remind you he is slain by Pippin just after this "scene" without any glory and that marks the arrival of the eagles and the disbanding of Mordor armies son afterwards wink

I would rather call him the Troll looser wink hihihi

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

When the Dorwinhrim Female Wine Merchant was made, Chris gave her a pony to carry the wine, though it was a single month. I was surprised and very glad; Now we have had a few releases since, and the news keeps geting better. This Pippin/Beregond/Troll scene is amazing!!!

As for "tio," he is a Spanish uncle . . . that is to say, tio is Spanish for the word "uncle." It is also used commonly, as my Spanish friends here know, as a term like "friend, or buddy, or dude." Que pasa, tio?

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

pippin fighting a troll?
wasn' t this a suggestion in times long gone?

if only the prices would be fair, mithril would surely be a favorite for many collectors.....
thanks gildor for sharing this pic with us! you are bringing back motivation!

christophe, a troll hero he definitely is -- what you quote is a scene from an old man's tale that is of historical relevance, but i prefer retaining the freedom to interpret vignettes and figures according to my preferences.

so, your version is just your version, and my version is my version. wink

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

It can also mean my fingers tripped over each other on this damn keyboard. When will these stupid computer companies ever make a keyboard designed for a man's fingers rather than a twelve-year old's?

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

there are very ergonomic keyboards out there you know wink

As for master Cameosis wink indeed you are right, I can only see this on the elven point of view wink

and for Estel, well Pippin fighting the troll, well it's not really a fight it's a stab...with a magical dagger that finished the job wink  but that's the last scene at the gates of Morannon anyway
