Re: THE TAPROOM 3

Well, so far I am shaken...
I feel like I lost friendly fellows, many times irreverent, always free.

Master Barliman, please another breakfast, with scrumpy, rat tail.
I raise my glass to their soul:

Re: THE TAPROOM 3

As you say, Master Milo, "Always free". That's the important thing. The French press has always been the most liberal in Europe, if not the world, and nothing will ever change that - especially actions such as these. I'll drink with you.

Re: THE TAPROOM 3

Sorry gentlemen, I should also have posted earlier but since yesterday, with this Charlie Hebdo attack, I'm quite schoked , angry, sad, perplex and helpless... I think all around us in France are completly under shock.
I'll try to modify the frontal page of Mithril later today, as I'd want to publish a big "JE SUIS CHARLIE" image...

Today, Je suis Charlie....

Today, Je suis Charlie....

I will not be Charlie.
I will never act as this “newspaper” did in the past. The limit of humour and sarcasm is the respect of the others.
As for hypocrisy about press freedom, Charlie and its drawing has been banned in the past in many countries including France and Belgium.

I condemn all violent act and murders but I am not Charlie

Re: THE TAPROOM 3

I never bought a Charlie Hebdo, I was not in agreement with what they were doing and indeed their humour was sometimes if not often too strong, but this country, France for instance, fought so that everybody could express himself in anyway he wants providing it does not physically hurt anybody, it is written in the 1789 constitution. the "loi Gayssot" hurt a lot of expression freedom already but it was maybe a "necessary evil", it is another debate and still this law did not kill anybody...

Humour and sarcasm, no matter how strong and disrepectful towards ANY thing does not justify murder... and that's why the logo "Je suis Charlie" was made, it does not mean you have to agree with what they wrote/draw, but that you agree that whatever they did, it did not justify their death...

the fact that even today, in some world press, to show pictures of Charb, there is a "fogged" image of the Charlie Hebdo covers means that the terrorists have won... and that is -according to me- a pity

Still you are perfectly fine not to be Charlie smile

The definition of true freedom of the Press can be summarised by what the great Frenchman Voltaire said: "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

?????

Where do these come out from ? Does that mean recasts are on going ? Is it same as the old gift which few of us are lucky enough to have one ?

from PA facebook page:

"We found a small stock of 1993 christmas figures of Isildur during a Christmas stock take. I added them up. You might want to snap them up while you can."

I ordered some of them ...

Re: THE TAPROOM 3

huoommm ... I don't think so, Master Mornedhel, as to me it seems we're talking about different things, meseems ... huom ... first of all there are two "versions" of that good-old-Isildur-54mm-Christmas-figure as far as I can recall ... huom ... the official one having an antique finish and the other ones having been named "Christmas-gifts" by Chis and just carry the old-but-good-greyish coating ... huom ... those definitely are different though they're exactly the same figures (but that might only confuse collectors) ... rhuomm ... the very last of the original "Christmas-Gifts" that Master Milo refers to was put on Ebay in January 2006 by Chris and went for 175 GBP ( which is quite a lot, isn't it) ... huom that is ... huoomm ... sometimes I do remember well ...

Re: THE TAPROOM 3

175 GBP is not so high for such a nice and rare figure, far less coiny things I offer for Arargorn and the palantir Chr1988
years ago.

However Master tree, in the Mithril Databse, the picture and pricing is for the Antique finish one

You have to visit PA warehouse to understand Michael can find tomorrow a stock of M16 under a pile of boxes ...

Certainly, Master Tree. And let's hope that they do find a box of M16s one day (you'll remember that I broke mine...).

That was the one. Just my luck to win something and then "lose" it again. "Sod's law" as we say in Bree.

Re: THE TAPROOM 3

the rarity and price for the 1993 Isildur even if Mithril is currently selling it  is very temporary, I doubt stocks are endless.

I was wondering if I should buy one actually.. I already have one, but mine is the real gift one, I mean, it is gray undercoated, not antique finished... (same as Chr1990 Eowyn or Chr1992 Galadriel)

as my purse does not currently allow it, I think I'll have to pass...

edit : well finally bought one, with this system of advantage points i only paid for shipping... that feels strange to buy a 1993 isildur for free oO

huoomm ... the reference to those Chr1990 and Chr1992 concerning the grey coating is absolutely correct, Master Gildor ... hom
