Re: The Taproom

Well, I made an alternate suggestion.

But I could see little moments - like a Drunken Elf from the Hobbit, or the Dwarves in a barrel, or one of the scenes from the Long Expected Party... Or Gimli surveying the dead half-orcs.

Re: The Taproom

Talking about drunken dwarves....
Did these fellows, we are supposed to suggest come out of the Pony after the big party?
Well there is one outside still, leaning against a tree (lol) peeing.

Re: The Taproom

If I'm not mistaken GW did this "funny pewter" thing already. I do have drunken and peeing dwarfs, but I don't really like to see that from mithril. But maybe I'm wrong, who knows.....

Re: The Taproom

And there is Master urns 868 as well! There was a band, Fuel 242 or so  . . . mmmh, dust on the mind - without any drink here.
Let´s have a look, there seems to be something in my pocket . . .
This Moria thing is finished. Some of these gentle people are waiting too see some photographs. That´s the problem: there are too many.
It´s hard to make decisions . . . without any drink here.

Nob, I am thirsty...
For those who like Rivendell, I added in my art gallery some pictures took last time I visited an old friend of mine in this heaven.

Re: The Taproom

As for me, I'm making rapid progress with my Orcs of Mordor and the last eight Rohirrim archers. I am seriously touching up the paint work of the Uruk Hai figure you see in the last set of photos I shared. His time in the Vault of Doom was not a happy one. Experimented with some new tones for their cloth too.  I am pretty pleased. Just need to complete this five today and then get the last four done over the weekend.

Then when that lot is complete, I am going to do something I have not done in a long time.

I'm going to play with them :p

I agree Master Ent!
Is it, because Master Barliman is not here, or is it the change of season?lol

Re: The Taproom

Right, I'm back, and I notice that that young scalliwag* Nob has been giving out drinks "left, right, and even centre" (a good description of the new government here in Bree, as far as I can make out) without once asking for recompense!

But never mind, I'm feeling freshly invigorated by my travels. All the wonderful fresh air has blown the dust from my mind so that there's more room for my one remaining brain cell to gambol like a newborn lamb.

It's also good to see that in my absence Hirluin has won the Fellowship vote, and I'm so pleased that I shan't complain about the fact that in the one month I didn't suggest him he won! Who did suggest him, by the way? Maybe I could get them to suggest one of my other oft-proposed favourites, such as Elfhelm, then maybe they'd win as well!

*Does anyone know what a scalliwag is, by the way?

Re: The Taproom

mmhh have you seen the pics of the new Bolg standard bearer and Gandalf & Gwaihir?

Well as the person who first suggested  a Gandalf & Gwaihir some time ago I must say... I am very disapointed...
well I can understand why no Gandalf on eagleback... but have you seen the head and in particular the beak of Gwaihir? it does not fit at all the scale or type that Gwaihir has had in the past at all.... (M301) and the feathers are...

well sorry to say but it seems mister Tubb is not very good at making eagles sad sad
(it's not often that I criticize that much...)

Re: The Taproom

Yes, the eagle's pose looks very stiff and wooden. Chris is unquestionably an excellent figure designer - one of the very best - but none of us are perfect at everything (personally I've always had an aversion to his hobbits). Oddly, however, despite the faults I quite like the Gandalf/Gwaihir combo. But then I'm in a good mood at the moment, and plan not to let anything upset me for a while yet. Or at least, not until I can afford another holiday.
