Re: The Taproom

Thank you for coming back to me personally,
and thank you very much indeed, Master Theobald for your precious time preparing these photographs.
That is the reason for me to order this Eagle! This little diorama is really superb!
So your time was worth spending it . . .
Thank you sir !

Maybe the magic was the most powerful force in the world. But that was long ago.
The dragons are gone, the giants are dead and the children of the woods are forgotten.

Re: The Taproom

Huuuooommm ... now what? ... Our dear Master Barliman returned from holidays safely and even enjoyed the time he spent in the north ... rhuuoommm ... so far I have not witnessed any comment from him about the present state of his "Prancing Pony" ... rhuoomm ... though he should be first in line to care about it .... huoommm ... Nob has left, as we know ... rhuoommm...
and I can understand that .... huom ... but what about cleaning and swiping tables around here? ... not to mention the floor ... alas ... rhuoommm ... so, what does he do, our dear barkeep? ... gggrruuoomm ... telling us having to go North just for business .... huoomm ... then forgetting to invite us regulars here for a Heavy and a wee dram .... rhuoommm .... if you know what I mean .... huoomm ... mind, that I did not mention doormats  ... huoomtidom

Re: The Taproom

What am I supposed to comment on? The place is in just the same comfortable, homely mess as it was when I left. Except the doormats, of course, which tend to reflect the state of the Tree's overlarge feet. What more need I say? And as for Heavy...ugh! I'm a light ale man myself (scrumpy has too many carbohydrates in it, alas, and if I drink too much I don't fit behine the bar.)

In the meantime, I think I'll go and purchse a few Mithrils while the Bree penny/Euro exchange rate is looking healthier. Long may that last!

Re: The Taproom

huoommm ... very interesting indeed ... huoommm ... no heavy, no bitter, no wee dram ... gruoomm ... anyway it's up to you, of course, Master Barliman .... huooommmm ... and as for my, what you call feet, roots they are ... gruoommm ... and they're not overlarge at all ... as far as I can see ... rgruuoommm ... have to be busy hanging up some pics in here for Master Gildor to use them for his Gallery .... huoommm ... he asked me doing that about a year ago, I think  ...  I certainly will hang them down again, after the Elf got them used ... but, as you all know .... huooommm ... I cannot haste everything .... rhuoommm ... I also don't want to mention them doormats again ... you know ... huoommm ... though

Re: The Taproom

So, that's all there is of the lost army ... I didn't touch nor painted them figures ... I added the shields to the bases of the figures - though they were not all primed and obviously have been casted in a different sprew ... anyway ... we know that Saruman lost ...

Pictures of recasts of the lost figures? Where! And if they were lost, how were they recast? And by whom? And who is NN anyway? So many questions...

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm .... sorry, I used a wrong word ... huomm ... they're no recasts but rather conversions made as substitutes for the two missing figures ... the originals are definitely lost huoomm ... sorry ....

Re: The Taproom

For a moment there I thought I'd died and gone to Heaven, but no such luck (I'm expecting to go in the other direction). Still, the notion that the missing MWs had been found was a nice idea for as long as it lasted.

Re: The Taproom

. . . a song by Master John. But it is interpretated in a much better way by Master Bryan . . . isn“t it ?!

Well, concerning those lost guys: The Man sculpted them, but nobody knows how they look like, even The Man himself, is that right ?!

Re: The Taproom

That is correct Master Archer, not even Chris can remember what they looked like. I guess, after sculpting thousends of things you don't remember some you sculpted back 10 years... I
I wouldn't, I can't even remember what I did last month....lollollol

Re: The Taproom

That is right indeed, Master Rita.de, and I can confirm this as I contacted The Man about this matter a long time ago ... rhuoommmm ... definitively lost they are and no test-castings survived ... rhuoommm ... it's a pity ... huom ... though, to be honest, who ever thought that the other lost warband, those Dwarves, would see the light after so very many years? ... rhuoomm ... to me that just was a rumour here in the Pony once ... hommm ... but, as we know, somehow most of them have appeared ... gruhuommm ... that tells me never to underestimate those tiny Dwarvish beings ... hommm

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... as for an answer to you, Master Barliman, about those two lost figures and their substitutes you might remember that here in Bree, in The Mathom House of Michel Delving, I once provided a thread called "conversions" ... you can find those lads over there ... rhuoomm

I also never got a single one of those Half-orcs, and anyone who has been paying attention for the last five years or so would know that orcs and half-orcs are my main interest in miniatures. I really need to get some of these!

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... as for your other question, Master Barliman, I only can say that I chose N.N. for someone who doesn't want to have his name being reveiled in public ... rhuoommm ... I have to accept that ... rhuoommmhuoommm ... N.N. is Latin and means "nomen nescio" ... huoommm ... as far as I can recall ... and that's all I know .... hoomm

Wasn't Clint Eastwood the man with no name? I didn't know he was into Mithrils.
