Re: The Taproom

Well, after all these discussions, I would like to ask this friendly community, what do you think about Master Narvi?
Did he fulfill the expectations?!

I liked it. I like that the figures are accompanied by "incidental" or "added." In this case a piece of column is carving our dwarf .... smile

My, this conversation is interesting. Especially with an ale and pipe while in a dark corner of the Tap Room.

Re: The Taproom

At risk of being shouted down, I didn't feel that the Haldir figure was particularly special - just another Elf doing what Elves are always shown doing, i.e. firing a bow. I was hoping for a more original pose. Narvi, though, is very nice.

Re: The Taproom

Oh no we're not. Keep your hands off! Just because I was having a snooze back here in the pleasant sunshine coming through the kitchen window doesn't mean I'm not here. Nob isn't here, but then, he never is here even when he is (if you see what I mean).

I think the problem is that no one has anything new to report at the moment. Or do they?

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... that 3rd "accessoire pack" sold by the Company could be a nice source for those diorama and conversion people, methinks ... rhuoommm ... its weight seems to be twice as much as the first two sets ... hoommm ... there's also a Rohirrim standard in it and some more of the M296 shields ... huoommm ...

Re: The Taproom

The contents of the accessories pack is a bit...random. You get the same sort of thing, generally, but there's often significant differences.

Re: The Taproom

Well, apropos of nothing...

My cat was hit by a car yesterday.

We are in the middle of a big move. We moved out of our place, and I am on my way to Vancouver to find a new place. Because of various odd requirements, we couldn't do this immediately. We stayed, and the cats stayed at my brother in law's funky old house in the country (well, more of the country than we already were in.) There's a road beside the house heading down towards Vermont, where motorists routinely do about 30km an hour above the speed limit. He's lost several pets that way.

We tried to keep them in one of the spare rooms. But they kept managing to get out. Two of them are now hiding in the walls. And doppleganger... he wouldn't come back when we weren't there.

He ran across the road.

I feel terrible. He was never the tamest animal. He was - with me - but rarely with others. He doesn't like change. My wife has been looking after him for more than 6 years now, on and off. First at her neighbours, then with us. We nursed him through a very serious illness, at great expense (a truly gross illness, too).

All he had to do was stay safe another few days.

Now he's gone.

And I don't know what to think.

Re: The Taproom

Considering all the stress about moving (and one key stressor was moving all the bleedin' figures!), its really hard to process it, y'know.

I suspect it won't "mean" anything until the move is complete, sometime next week.

Gavin,
You have my thoughts as my old cat "Bilbo" left us this year after 18 years of good love and fellowship.
Take care and good luck for the move.

Re: The Taproom

Thanks all

I am kinda thinking that two (neurotic, shy, bit mad) cats is enough for now. Though I can replaced Doppleganger with alarming ease. I think two might be sufficient for a while.

I'm terribly allergic to them, too.

Hey Gavin, there are two cats living with us together, and I certainly can imagine how you feel! I am very sorry indeed.
