Re: The Taproom

Funnily enough, it's just tured a bit cooler here! Still, a glass or two of chilled white wine is always pleasant on a bright summer evening. I think I'll have some too.

Perhaps you should go and look for it. Any excuse to get off work...

Re: The Taproom

Nay, not acceptable ... probably a case of familiarity breeding "contempt"? Or simply neglect ... wink How nice would a real beach at the ocean here in this city of the Bear (instead of small lakes and rivers or artificial "beach volleyball fields") ... Fellows, please visit the sea in our name, today!  smile

Re: The Taproom

Not a bad idea to get of work. lol
It's only 25km but to much traffic and that's what I don't like. I rather go to the top of the mountain (what they call a mountain here) and see it from far away. wink

Re: The Taproom

No sea views and no mountains here in Bree. We're actually below sea level and very flat to every horizon. The scenery can best be described politely as 'uninteresting', though other words have often been used. Mind you, I rarely get a chance to get out of the Pony anyway, so it doesn't make a lot of difference. I just take a look at the photos of New Zealand that I've put up behind the bar - best scenery in the world, bar none. Do any MMP members live in New Zealand, or is Aussie-land the closest we get?

Axe99 (Dave Long) is the only other collector I know from this side of the globe and he lives also in OZ.
No Kiwis I know of are collecting Mithril....

Re: The Taproom

No, no signs of Orc decor yet. And mentioning Axe99, it occurs to me that we haven't heard from him in quite a while! Is he OK, does anyone know?

Sorry for disturbing you gentlemen. The Lady made it in the meantime . . .
I am not quiete sure about her. Anyway.
I put in that CD with "ocean-sounds vol. II: the seagulls return" and return for myself to my hammock . . .

Re: The Taproom

Well in deference to Master Rita, Master Gildor and, indeed, Master Grond, I shall not propose an idea, and I will vote for someone named OR evil next month and the month after.

But I am really, really excited about having two selections in one year (my first two!). A decent consolation prize for a rubbish year.

Re: The Taproom

mmhh in deference? why so? anybody is free to suggest smile as Grond said elsewhere it seems I have my "band of friends" who also support the idea of exotic and original suggestions... if those suggestions don't win it means the majority of "voters" prefer more common things... that's democracy smile but who said democracy was fair? smile it's only fair to those who vote for the winners (who tends to be a minority because the "majority" does not vote at all...) wink  but that's another debate

Re: The Taproom

I know, however, I am keenly aware that I've done pretty well from the arrangement recently - time for the pendulum to swing back the other way.

Looks like I'll be making my next Mithril order at my birthday - Hirluin,Eowyn, the Elf and a whole whack of Knights of Dol Amroth big_smile

Re: The Taproom

Anyway, what's wrong with the current M range Faramir? - I kinda like him. As must be well-known by now - I've said, or at least implied, it often enough - I'll always vote for a named Tolkienian figure in preference to a MERP 'Fantasy' figure, but I'd prefer it to be one that we haven't seen before, or at least in a context that we haven't seen them before. A man with a bow is, when all is said and done, a man with a bow.

Having said that, I shall now have to think of someone worthwhile to suggest myself.
