Re: The Taproom

You don´t have to menace, Master Estel, deleating your post for what reason ever. You should stay to your thoughts - unconfined.
There is another one you agree to you - unconfined: Myself !
And yes, I am frustrated also.  Even very much. You know that!

Re: The Taproom

At the moment NOT ! Because there are no miniatures around. Only very expensive MS releases, single figures- which don´t fit into any diorama- at the moment !

Re: The Taproom

well I suppose thematic months could apply to the GF if need be for "personnalities"... if this idea is shared by many... this way it would "lead" the suggestion process... even those who have nothing agaisnt personnality but prefer "more common" suggestion" would submit something around the theme...

but a theme has always been a suggestion by mithril not an "order" (except when it comes to mounted/unmounted/vignette...

maybe some people could bring this to Lars and Chris ear... Chris may agree but won't have the final word... and Michael is only a webmaster he has no power at all over this kind of thing..

Re: The Taproom

I also find myself in agreement with some of what Master Estel has said. Certainly the MERP-type 'Fantasy' figures are not what I want to see at all, though I accept that some people do. In fairness, however, not that many unnamed or MERP characters have actually won in the past couple of years - only three or four, I think, though they include a couple which are so horribly un-Tolkienian that I shudder to even think of them.

Price and rareness are another matter. The prices have always been too high, and GBP/euro/dollar exchange rates haven't improved matters. And certainly there are some figure suggestions (though again, not actually many winners) which would be much better as part of a standard 'M' range.

But when did we last see an 'M' range? So it's not surprising if some people resort to the Fellowship to get some figures they want actually produced.

There's much food for thought here, which is just as well since it's time for breakfast! I must go and have my own before Nob scoffs everything.

Re: The Taproom

What do others think of 'themed' months?
The idea in original by Gildor might be the solution.

A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken:
The crownless again shall be king".

Re: The Taproom

perhaps master Butterbur could open a public poll thread in the pony (not in the taproom indeed) to ask members of the forum what they think about the thematic things and personnalities month? and considering the result of this poll we could ask michael if such thing could be possible.

Now , one has to define what is "a personnality"... though personnality means "a given name" the name could be from MERP as well as canonic... Does it apply for MERP? well why not, but sometimes very minor named characters from MERP are not really what I would call a "personnality" wink

well it's up to you all gentlemen... I think I am too involved in the official and public debates about that to post and give my opinion about it... I may be one very good Mithril customer (nothing compared to our dear master Ent indeed) and collector, I know I have many detractors too alas... I would not like - once again - that my strong posts and "fights" on the official board be taken as "personal and egoistic unfulfilled desires "

(oh and btw, the topic is closed now, but I never smote Grond karma on the forum, twasn't me and I would never had done that)

Re: The Taproom

This topic has now been moved to another room (don't worry. drinks and bar snacks are still available...), and any further views should be expressed there. OK, Nob, you can sweep the floor now.

The facts that there was no food and that Nob wasn't there are linked, I suspect. He is, after all, a Hobbit...

Yes, the food shortage in the newly opened room must be a result of "someone" carrying the food out of the room. You could follow the crumbs to the stable...big_smile

If you do, you run the risk of getting eaten as well. He's only had two breakfasts so far today.

Re: The Taproom

All of my drinks are the best and finest - you need to be more specific. I can especially recommend the scrumpy - the lumps in it are smaller than usual today.

Re: The Taproom

Well, scrumpy for The Man ?! We don´t want to scare him off.
I think there has to be a fine red wine with a nose of summer, oak, and slate quarry.

There might acrtually be a fine nose of Nob about it. He frequently just sticks his head in without worrying about a glass.

Re: The Taproom

Master Erchamion is back. There is much to read for him. I suppose after that he needs a strong drink.
Who knows who is still at this bar having some drinks ( for free . . . ) cool

Re: The Taproom

There are many of these people-new members- who don´ t take part in any discussion at all.
This is mysterious . . . What is their real desire to take part in this wonderful community . . .
( whatching the real face of the MMP members . . . ?)

Have a look inside the member list and count those with zero entries . . . )

If any of the new members are afraid of saying anything in case they might get laughed at, not to worry - it's never stopped me. But welcome indeed to everyone, whether they have anything to say or not.
