Huoommm ... sorry, no time for a drink ... I just remembered that I promised to put up some new pictures in that Mathom House ... huoommm ... what is a "short drink", Master Estel? ... I guess I better stay away from that ... rhuoommmmmmmm

We didn't have a witch king for a while....
Yep, Master Barliman, what about a short drink????

Yes, I know what you mean about the latest MS voting. The Gold Fellowship has somewhat of an overabundance of trolls already, compared to the very small part trolls play in Tolkien's legendarium. Still, if that's what the majority of people want, then I guess that's what they want. Next month I might suggest a troll picking his nose, or maybe chewing his toenails. In the meantime I think I'll join you in another drink, Master Estel.

Huoommm ... back again I am ... rhuoomm ... having nailed part of that cavalry-pics over there in the Mathom House" ... rhuoommm ... always busy I am as you might have always guessed ... bowl+water, please Master Barliman .... hmmrhuom ... as it is the weak end of a what you call week ... whatever that means ... huoommm ... ???
Trolls? ... the one chewing his toenails? ... I can imagine well ... huommm ... that was the one sitting opposite the Dark Lord who was picking his nose, right? ... huoomm ... a very nice diorama that could be .... huuoooommmm ... though ... wasn't it the troll who was picking his nose while Sauron was chewing his toenails? ... rhuommm ... I don't remember well - long time ago that was .... huooommmmmmmmtidoommmmm

Huoommm ... now trying to be serious again .... hom ... Master Barliman, may I also have one of them shorts together with a drink, please ... rhuoomm ... nay, I won't mind carrying a tie ... or what do you mean saying "tie them tree up, please?" ... rhuomm ... I always knew that language is limited .... hooommm ... but this hassle around my throat is what? ... hmm ... arrghhhh ... eehh ... right, once you let me loose again I'll promise to give some coiny things for that beermat-collection you call yours ... uphhh ... yes, promise to clean them doormates more regularly ... huom ... whatever door mates are ... promised ... [Ent sighs again] ...
All I wanted was to be serious again and having a free drink .... rhuommm ... but that's the way it goes once you enter these pony-prancing-premises ... alas ... huom ...

Yes, Master Ent, very dry in here...
I don't have coiny things. but I can repair the roof... On the other hand, if the roof is repaired, master Ent doesn't get a drink at all.... what to do????

Offline
The only thing dry in here is the humour, Master Caster (or 'humor', as the, ahem, colonials spell it). As for the wargskin doormats, Master Tree, I think we'll give them a rest for a while and just get Nob to lay down on the threshold; then you can wipe your feet on him - he's not good for much else. (Alternatively we could try using Bob's cat - at least that will clean itself afterwards).

Ah, yes, so I see...clearly what this indicates is that you talk too much! But anyway, you don;'t have to part with any coiny things. As you will doubtless recall, you're exempt from such mundane obligations, for past services rendered. But it would be nice to have a new rumour that I haven't heard before. Have you got any?
I notice, by the way, that we have yet another picture of one of the upcoming HM2 figures in the latest newsletter (or is it a Mohican?). So how many is that we've seen now? Four? Or is it five? I can't remember - my memory isn't what it was. Actually, never was what it was, if you see what I mean...
Shouldn't that be a Huron Barli?
I think they were the ones with the 'Mohican' haircuts in the films.

Huoommm ... sorry ... I was just jesting a while ago ... rhuoommm ... simply to entertain ... though ... my first attempt of being the "one-and-only-treeish-entertainer in Bree" seems to have failed ... rhuoommm ... so I might consider wisely which other profession I could head for next ... huoommm ... what about becoming a translator in those silent movies replacing that old piano? ... rhuoommm .... hmmmrhuomm ... I will consider this thoroughly ...

You could even be the piano, Master Tree!
Not sure about the Huron / Mohican business, Master Dave. Culturally, you may be right, but didn't US troops with their hair cut in that fashion in WW2 refer to it as a 'Mohican'? Perhaps one of our colonial visitors can put us right on that score.

I know, I'd best tread carefully, lol. But I has seen the film and it is in colour so it must be true

Of course, everything we see in movies is true except when it isn't....a bit like newspapers.

"Mohawks" sported by Native American tribes of the Great Lakes region, particularly the 'Mohawk' tribe when going to war. Others noted for this fine fashion: 16th century Cossacks, Scythians, WWII U.S. paratroopers, Irish bog people (at least one), and various sub-genre of punks rockers. What is cool about the versions in the pending HD figures is the unity with the 1/2 orc figures!

That's something that hadn't occurred to me - well spotted, Master Kenakko!
Interestingly re the Mohawk/Mohican confusion, if you Google 'Mohican' you get thousands of pictures of this haircut. Then if you Google Mohawk ...... you get pretty much the same pictures! Obviously the world at large (er, me included) has come to believe that the haircut is common to both.
Either way, they're not Hurons.
Offline
Believe me, if I had more hair I'd be sporting a Blue one;) But the link to the 1/2 Orcs is what is crucial for unifying CT's Mithril/ME visions. Without getting into the larger (and perhaps endless) debate about half orcs in general, I find it to be a nice touch that supports my own views on the matter. The other 'half' must be Dunlendings and the hair-do is a cultural artifact. Good work CT!
