Re: The Taproom

Since it was probably my scrumpy that infected your gums, I'll see what I can find. I have a nice fluoride-tasting beverage here. Do you want to try that? Chartreuse has too much sugar in it to do you much good.

Cheers Archer of Mirkwood! tongue
Drinks are always welcome!

My goodness Master Forest Warden, that's not good at all. I hope everything works out for you in that regard.

Re: The Taproom

Well Master caster, it is quite strange to learn that even if there is no tooth decay, you can loose every teeth...
Some bad bacterial took up residence in my gum.
It will take almost a year to get rid of these nasty germs...

Re: The Taproom

The Herb Sage (in German Salbei) (Salvia Officinales) is very good to treat this!
You use the Herb and use it like you would make a tee. But you don't drink it. You use it only to gargle. If you swollow some of the liquid, that's no harm either.
You should be able to get this Herb in a Health food store.
1 Teespoon of Sage per 1/4  liter of boiled water., leave to seep for a few minutes, denn gargle with it.

There is another Herb you can use, but I have to look it up first!

Can I put it in the scrumpy? - I'm always looking for new ingredients to refine the flavour.

Re: The Taproom

The following are the needed herbs.:  Eichenrinde ( Cortex Quercus - latin) , Frauenmantel (Alchemilla vulgaris - latin), Vogelknoeterich (Polygonum aviculare - latin), Salbei ( Sage - english) - ( Salvia Officinales- latin)

Mix 2 heaped teaspoons (same qty of each herb) with 1/2 liter of cold water. Leave overnight. Next morning warm the tea up ( not in microwave of course), and gargle 'lukewarm" several times during the day. You can massage the tea into your gums and teeth with a soft toothbrush too!

Re: The Taproom

Master Barliman, I don't know if this helps against hair growing on your teeth, (from what I have heard, that's what scrumpy does), but it's certainly worth a try besides a new "healthy" flavour lol

Huoommm ... ???? ... urrr ... ? ... yes, of course ... huoommm ... but, let me ask, please, am I disturbing another lesson about coocery and brewing? ... rhuoommmm ... Master Hsf62, by-named the Caster, as a healing herbalists meets some curious and inventive brewer of liquids, called Barliman, known as BB ... huom ... alas, I forgot the victim, Master Milo .... rhuoommm...
but to be serious, Master Milo, you might try what our Master Caster suggested ... huommm ... but don't start with gnawing some bark from an oak (Cortex Quercus).... rhuoommm ... but mind that the 'Prancing Pony' is well-known and has best reputations for its famous porridge .... sorry ... wink

Does it serve the remedy for other bones than those of the mouth?
I could fill a bath and get inside. My wights bones would appreciate it....roll

Re: The Taproom

Sounds like we all have health issues, but I don't want to get into a competition with you all, because on that score I'm pretty sure I'd win. But at least I'm still alive and kicking. At the moment. Until I trip over those d——d warg skin rugs again.

Re: The Taproom

Huooommmm ... you think you'd win, Master Barliman ... rhuoooouuuoooommm ... never, I daresay ... no chance in that competition ... huomm ...
as for an entirely other matter, Master Barliman ... sorry, but I have to admit it was me having them w**g-s***s (never mention the word, as we once agreed) heaped up a little bit at the threshold to avoid the "Pony" being frequented by banner-swinging snagas ... rhuoomm ... just a thought, of course ... huooommm ... I should better take care of my thoughts anyway ... huom ... Yes, I'll have it done in a moment ... huoommm

Re: The Taproom

As I said, Master Tree, I'm not going to get into a contest on the health front. I'm sure there are lots of people worse off than me. But if I fall over those rugs again it probably won't matter anyway.

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... all you said is very wise indeed, Master Barliman ... rhuoommm ... and very much appreciated .... hooommm ... though I have to tell you that I just fixed a new sign at the door of the "Pony" when I was outside cleaning them ... ahem ... things, so to say .... rhuoommm ... the sign reads "Mind the Gap" ... huoommm ...

I've had another sign put up underneath it saying "Mind the scrumpy".

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... yes, that sign exactly was what I was missing at the front door ... rhuoomm ... some lack of nails ... rhuoommm ... thank you for helping me promoting the "Pony" (though you're part of it) ... next thing is to find the the sign reading 'no credit cards accepted' to nail under  the 'mind the scrumpy' sign ... so all customers are well-informed in front of the front door
rhuoommm  .... being a barkeep must be a serious matter ... rhuommm ....

Re: The Taproom

Very serious. Now, can you reach a bit higher up the doorframe and nail up this sign saying "Beware of the Nob" - yes, just there, above Hobbit eye-level so that the rascal can't pull it down. (I've had a little kennel made for him, which we can put near the gate.)

As for the "No credit cards accepted" sign, can you delete the last two words, please? Thank you. Then it's more accurate.
