When have you ever known me to be welcoiming, Master Tree? That's just a malicious rumour put about by those who want a free drink.

A round of drinks on me - Guthlaf seems to have staggered with his saddle across the line smile I hope CT can come close to the sketch suggestion.

Re: The Taproom

In completely other news, BC Ferries (ie, British Columbia, Canada) considers MMP to be a threat to its corporate network.

I was amused.

You need to explain. What do they think MMP is?

Not really. One tries to avoid being on the ferry to Vancouver Island (home of the newly wed and nearly dead) as much as possible.

Re: The Taproom

hah!

The ferry goes from here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver

to here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria,_British_Columbia

(and its nowhere near as nice looking as those pictures imply. They are all about how English they are, but apparently someone's idea of the most uberly English thing ever is Milton Keynes. As such the city gets less classy looking rather quickly)

Victoria is said to be "the land of the newly wed and nearly dead" - the idea being was that the cost of living was cheap enough that young professionals could buy a place in the Victoria sprawl, as opposed to renting in Vancouver. However, the place has gotten remarkably more expensive, without having much to show for this expense. So now, its the land of the nearly dead - and the police have been known to arrest you for being under the age of 30 without due care and consideration. (There's a big university in the middle of it all, so the gap between the elders and the students is...large).

You know that Father Ted episode about Eoin McLove and his elderly fans? I was reminded of that episode frequently.

Anyway, the ferry between is an hour and a half ride through some beautiful maritime scenery, though the boat itself is a sort of cleaned up version of something the average European might go on a booze cruise on. You can sit in the rubbish eatery and look at gorgeous stuff outside. And, if one is bored, one might be tempted to go onto MMP and read the latest mithril gossip.

Assuming the server allowed you, that is.

Re: The Taproom

Rhuoommm ... as for another matter ... rhom ... does anybody here know if those Wainriders had wargs to draw their chariots? ... rhuoommm ... or did they prefer those small horses of the 'steppe' ? ... I did forget about it and Master Tolkien does not reveil very much .... huoomm

Re: The Taproom

Wargs?
Of course NOT, Master Theo. Those wainriders surely have got horses. I am sure about that.
Those small "Steppe" horses would be very authentic, but I assume, that normal Tubb-horses would be perfect as well.
I try to convert a chariot months ago ( I have mentioned it somewhere else . . . ) taking horses from "gamezone".
But they look a bit like brewery-horses . . .
Not sophisticated at all . . .
