I thought I was good on the karaoke machine, Master Gavin, but I don't know that one. How does it go?
Well, Season's greetings to all of my regulars and all those who just happen to pop in occasionally. May your presents be full of Mithrils!
Someone wake the Tree up and tell him there's a bowl of his favourite amber stuff on the bar awaiting his attention, when he's thirsty. I'll let him shuffle that far, if he can do it without falling over the furniture or tripping over Nob or the cat....those decorations cost me a lot of coiny things.

Merry Christmas to all of you dear friends... and also as Master Turambar says peaceful new year to all of us... just enough peace and health to each of us will be important to keep us a long time here in our little mithril world...

Happy X-mas to Mithril lovers around the world! I shall visit more often and I might even pay my bar tab this year!

Well, I'm hoping Mrs B has noticed all my hints, and will have got me a White Council. If she hasn't, then I guess I shall just have to buy one myself! ... I may even be able to afford it if Master Ken actually pays his bar tab (always assuming that it's still legible when I've wiped all the dust off it...
The bar will be open for business as usual tomorrow, so don't be shy - just drop in, and have a glass of Nob's festive advocat and egg-nog.
Yuk.

The Lord of Khand came for a visit this Christmas, along with a couple of classic Mordor orcs and M177 Dunlendings of Isengard and a note saying that M159 Dwarven Infantry were supposed to come along also but were delayed because of a slow Canadian shipper.

40 LR miniatures and M61 were under Christmas tree. M560 & X-mas 2010 still delayed by the snow over Europe.

.... found it again ... huooommmmmmmm ... ti dommm ... hooommm
Huoommmm ... I'll have to be busy the next year ... rhuoommm ... so far I didn't find the time to assemble and prime that Easterling-chariot from N.N. .... unfortunately ... huoommm ... then I bought myself that "White Council" for Christmas .... huooommm ... those two Christmas-figures seem to be on their way still ... huoomm ... obviously they cannot cope with snow and ice well enough ... rhuooommm ... meanwhile I have to cope with non-Mithril matters ... huoomm ... a dozen pieces of the good old Renaissance-artillery in 40mm-scale ... rhuoommm ... all mechanisms are working well by now .... huoomm ... then there's the blide to be repainted ... covering a range of 5 meters in the living-room .... hoommmm ... and a challenge .... a Viking longboat, also in 40mm-scale .... huoomm ... I didn't even know that such a "miniature" even existed ... seems to become a hard job ... sail, ropes, barrels, rows, chests, prow-beast, etc ... rhuoommm ... 2011 is completely booked by now ... huoomm ... then I promised our Elf to take pictures of that weird fellow I came across lately ... huooommm ... anyway, I still hope that 2011 will surprise me with having some 200 extra-days in its calendar ... rhuoommm .... hom ... hmm

My friend Ent, it seems that we agree on taste

I have also reserved part of 2011 in other cases non-Mithril. In particular a Renaissance Spanish Imperial army full in 15mm (thank goodness) with Catholics German allies. And I WANT to paint and pick up the brushes. A big project for me, no doubt, because I have more than 3 years without painting anything .....
And I fear that 2011 still has the same days, not even a leap year, but what is another day in the life of an Ent .....

Huoommm ... I also didn't find the time to paint Mithrils ... yes, for about 3 years by now ...
... which doesn't mean I have no further interest in doing so ... huoommm ... so a Renaissance Spanish Imperial Army, you said? ... rhuoommm ... that's interesting indeed ... huoommm ... with my collection of 'Landsknechts' I have the mounted "Frundsberg" and the "Götz von Berlichingen" giving command to the troops .... rhuoommm ... though ...
at the moment I'm a bit more focused on Vikings ... err ... huommm ... I'll get back later to that ... rhuoommm .... so 2011 will still have the same days as 2010? .... rhuoomm ... that's a pity, isn't it? .... huoomm ....

As long as we are on a non-Mithril topic; have any of you checked out the Wargames Factory orcs? They look like they might be compatible with mithril orcs.

I've always wondered if there's an easier way to go blind than painting 15mm figures, Master Erchamion (well, painting 5mm figures, I suppose...) - I find it difficult enough to see the detail on 28mm figures a lot of the time! These old eyes aren't what they used to be, even with a pair of bi-focals.
And no, I didn't get the White Council I was hoping for at Christmas (proving what I always thought - that Mrs B doesn't listen to a word I say). Ho-hum. I shall just have to purchase my own, and deduct the cost from Nob's pay packet. He'll never notice - can't count above three, bless him (and he can only count that far because it's how many feet tall he is).
And good luck with that workload, Master Tree - you'll be busy all year for sure. Who makes the Viking longship?

Yes, Master Barliman, painting armies of 15mm has a big advantage: they don´t have many details you can paint much faster. The 5mm size seems too small for me. Neither I have the art of Miss Wendy or other great painters of this forum to "dare" with greatest figures in 40mm or 54mm....
Offline
... next year... I will also take some time to paint and assemble some other figures from my stock... I have lot's of 54 mm figures...vikings too... some medieval knights... some romans and indians and the special jewel - plane ME 262 in 1/48 scale full of photo ejected parts.... very valuable model.... I like bigger scale of figures... only mithril is in small scale in my collection.
And from tomorrow I'm going to paint "The White council" .... under the tree there was nothing this year only toys for my daughter. Other family money has spent on bigger car....
