Re: The Taproom

No, Stade Toulousain won yesterday. I was in Anoeta stadium (San sebastian - Spain) and I have to celebrate the victory + some training for next round in Ireland (Leinster).

Re: The Taproom

Is this the odd sport where 22 headless chickens run around a field using a flattened football as an excuse to thrash merry hell out of each other?

Re: The Taproom

Arf, no !

There are 30 big human guys on the field, and they make scrums. Some almost look like woses, others come from cardolan.
If I understood everything, it is about splashing  gobelins behind a line ! lollol

Toulouse is former European champion, qualified to semis this season.

Re: The Taproom

Ah, 30 headless chickens! Squashing goblins must be fun, though. I used to play this game many moons ago (in my school days), but the only thing I was any good at was running very fast to get away from the Orcs who were trying to flatten me. Ah, happy days. Now all I have to worry about is tripping over the wargskin rugs - though that can be just as dangerous.

Re: The Taproom

We hobbit are good in scrums also as no one can go lower than us. but we flatten moles, no Ors nor goblins. roll

When I play this game, my job is to kneel down when the moles's porter arrives. lollol

Re: The Taproom

They have porters? That sounds like a far more civilised version of the game than I'm familiar with.

And though I originally posted this in the wrong place:

Just completed another Mithril project - a band of wood elf warriors in mirkwood.

And yes, that is an old CD turned into a quick and dirty display stand.

Re: The Taproom

You may have lost your way again, Master Gavin, though you're always welcome. This isn't Master Samwise's gallery... Go across the room, up a broad stair, along a wide corridor, through the first hall, and out. The art gallery is on the opposite side of the road, next to Nob's kennel.

Re: The Taproom

Well, everyone seems to be up to buying for a round, so I'd better set up a new keg! I've just been in the yard at the back soaking up an ale and the sunshine - what a wonderful spring day it is! - well, here anyway. I don't know what it's like beyond the Breeland, of course. Perhaps it's raining...

Re: The Taproom

I shall certainly give it a look-see. Sean Bean is a good actor anyway, and hopefully the production values will be better than some Fantasy nonsense we're subjected to.

Re: The Taproom

The production values are highly impressive.

Beautiful use of Malta, Northern Ireland and Scotland for locations. Wonderful costume designs (though if you're not familiar with the books, some of the heroic knight's uhm, specialised armour will look a bit weird. There's a reason for this.).  Nicely lit.

Lots of human tension, and, as the joke goes. Little Alfie got himself a job.

Huooommmm ... to be honest, I do not understand a single word ... rhuom ... I just witness that me bowl is empty still ... huom ... though I stood in line ... gruoommhuom ... talkative barkeeps spending their time in the yard and soaking sun and ale are not what these nice premises need to improve the reputation of a Bree-ish tavern ... rhuoommmm ... right, I also relaxed a bit meanwhile ... huu°uuômmm rhuh<-  --- ommmmmm ...
