Re: The Taproom

Master Milo, if it is mushrooms you are looking for, I know a fine farmer just across the river near the Bywater Ferry. Maggott is his name, and a stout hobbit he is, although be sure to approach his property from the road, and knock at the gate. If you cross his fields without permission he'll set his dogs on you!! But the mushrooms are the best between Rivendell and Hobbitton!

Re: The Taproom

I swear I saw him briefly at lunch yesterday and today.
But he did not take time te rest here for a while nor send any post.
From what he told me 3 weeks ago, he his more than busy at the moment.
This why I shout each time I see his silhouette behind the pony's window. smile

Re: The Taproom

However nice he is, he's not coming in my bar. unless someone is volunteering to wipe all the spit off the walls afterwards.

Yes, fellows, I'm back, and I return not especially impressed with the beverages of which I partook beyond Mor Breizh - I should have asked for some recommenadtions from you fellows before I went, I guess. I'd welcome some belated advice regarding the better Gallic types that I might have missed - draught or bottled (I'm not especially fussy). I'm particularly interested in knowing if there are any genuinely Gallic ciders. I didn't find any, but I may not have looked hard enough.

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... seems that your stay-off wasn't very well-planned in terms of liquids awaiting you ... rhuommm ... anyway, I hope you did enjoy the landscape at least .... huomm ...
ahhh, I forgot ... rhuoomm ... welcome back, Master Barliman ... huom ... indeed ... hom ... as far as I could see there was no severe damage done to any of the rooms here ... rhuommm ...
no digging from outside to your vaults below ... hmm ... not any attempt to unlock the hidden trap-door behind the bar being witnessed ... rhuoommm ... everythings fine this time you were absent ... huoommm ... gruooohmmmm ...err...huom ...
what I just wanted to say is, wouldn't it be a nice idea to give a round for the regulars here for free ... ? ... huom ... see, Master Barliman, we really do care about your well-known Prancing Pony whenever you don't have the time to do that yourself ... rhuommm ... we're a bunch of very most reliable customers around here .... right? ... so ... why not ... err ... huoommm ... just think it over .... hooooommmmm ....

Re: The Taproom

Oh, very well, I suppose you're not such a disreputable bunch of reprobates as you seem on the surface. So, a free mug of whatever-takes-your-fancy to everyone who's here at this moment.....What, no one's here? Well, so much for that then. A cheap round indeed, as we say here in Bree!

No, no, no, you can't expect a free drink more than two hours later - you  were none of you here at the time, so I'm afraid you missed your chance.
