I hope Dave doesn't bring a drinking horn here that's as big as that one used by Helm in the new release. I'll run out of ale in no time!
Ha, Ha, I will see if I can find one , if not a Yard of Ale glass will have to do.

Have you ever tried to drink out of one of those things? It's a rare skill to manage it without drenching yourself. Most places only have a half-yard these days. In fact, I don't think I've seen a true yard for more years than I care to remember.

Huuooommm ... a yard of ale would even be better as you then don't have to slurp up the liquid through a very long and narrowing tube ... rhuoommm ... imagine that Helmy-horn were filled with a liquid ... huoommm ... see, it just might contain one-and-a-half bowl ... hrruomm ... what I think is, that the Helmy-horn wasn't designed to take liquids ... huooommm ... but it's just a guess, of course ... huom

Huoommm ... as for them "true" yards, I still keep one of them ... huommm ... and yes, I tried it three or even four times and never got drenched ... rhuoommm ... yes, there's a certain skill ... huoommm ... I always thought a barkeep should know about that ... hoommm

No, I'm not daft enough to have ever tried it. You know, I assume, that you're supposed to down the whole lot in one go (about two and a half pints)...? Mind you, that should be well witnin an Ent's capacity.

huoommm ... well, never done it in one go as the fun of it is to share it with friends and in the ent see who's drenched ... rhuoommm ... you have to know when to sip, drink or swallow while turning the yard ... huom ... there once was something similar in my Osning area called "Stiefel" (which means boot and is of the same shape and made of glass containig 3 or 5 litres - two sizes there were) ... rhuoommm ... I think it's more difficult to drink a "Stiefel" than a yard of ale .. huoomm

At 3 or 5 litres, so do I!!

Is that a Stiefel or a Yard you're wanting?

You become more and more professional, Master Innkeeper.
But I prefer a normal pint.
But after reading all that Master Gildor shares somewhere else I become a bit dizzy . . .
What would you propose for consuming . . . ?
Offline
I will join you as reading Gildor and Thingol made me thirsty also !

mmhhh did I do something wrong? I try my best to have all of it smooth though

No worries Master elf, just reading so many good news makes us dry and happy.
This is why we all visit Barliman's place today.

Better to be drunk and happy than dry and happy.

You never give up your business don't you ?
And you're lucky also to have elvf kinds customers who never get drunk !

If I gave up business what else would I do? Unlike Nob, I'm not the "sitting about doing nothing" type.

don't forget that you run this business master butterburr but I "own the walls" .... (and the cellar )
still.... some sparkling lemonade please it's too hot here with some fruit cake, you'd be so kind
I'll pay you the bill in "news coins"

Does that mean they'll be shiny? If so, Bob's cat will enjoy playing with them. Er, and so will Nob probably.

Huoommmrhuoommm ... all them so-called discussions about releases or non-releases of series got on me poor nerves for years ... rrrrrhhuomm ... when I witnessed that nothing was moving I became a bit frustrated ... huoommm ... but thought I have to do it myself in the ent ... rhuoom
Huom ... I was so much fascinated by the idea of an Easterling army ... so I had to help myself ... huom and I did ...

Nice! Who is/was the manufacturer? The chariot is a particulary nice model, and is one that I've not seen anywhere before. (Maybe I just haven't looked in the right places.)
