Re: The Taproom

I think that's what we here in Bree call "a busman's holiday" (does that translate into Westron?).

Good news in Michael's latest newsletter regarding the Dol Amroth guys, I see. I'm looking forward to seeing all of them.

Re: The Taproom

yup me too!! (i'm currently painting the dol amroth vignette (MV420) that will be a good introduction smile those knights are a true pleasure to paint smile

I have gathered all info from LR1 to LR15 so far, I'll need Gavin putting some info on the 9 Nazgul MERP backgrounds as these are quite "rich background" in the MERP universe...  I am working with my own collection lately as the LO and LR series are not filled in Arnaud Godet database (the number of parts) . Since mine are already glued and painted (the nazgul) I hope I did not make a mistake retracing the parts but I have done them recently so that should be fresh in my head...

Please feel free to check the LR series in my database to see if I made mistakes (for LR11-20) I gave some info concerning the design and the name of these figurines too in the description...

(I know I should not discuss work matters in a place that is meant for relaxation and rest wink but well...)

Re: The Taproom

Well, Ingold seems to be doing well this time around Barley.  I hope he wins.

I can check what LRs and LOs I have Gildor.  I don't have all of them, but it's probably worth a look.  smile

Master Ent is still on holiday.  I have to admit I'm a little envious as I would like to go back to Scotland someday.

Re: The Taproom

well I managed to pass through , but thanks anyway wendy smile now the LO (whole range) and the LR (up to LR20) are done, with full data information (parts included)

next after the LR are the MC and MCD but I still need a release date for them... apparently the first batch of MC/MCD was released in 1997 (according to the Mithril Classics handbook. Can we assume that the remaining MC (not described in the handbook) were released in 1998?

Except for MC31 and on, which were released about the same time as the Battle of Mirkwood series, but I'm sure you have the flier announcing the releases of both.  smile  (Anything much before that is before my time.)

Man, you're busy as a beaver Gildor!

Re: The Taproom

actually I don't have any fliers sad

remember i am in france... and paper flier announcing releases do not reach me... I would be interested in a scan of this flier (as you may know I collect all advertising fliers from Mithril) (I got all Dragon Magazines , in originals for the 1988-1993) especially to have a first-hand advertising sheet of the early release... cf the Gallery with scans of the early ads)

thanks for the info in any case Wendy smile thanks a lot

I have the flier - alas its rather battered and beaten from several moves.

Anyone need any information from it?

Re: The Taproom

I'll try taking a picture of both sides first.  If I can't make that work, I think my husband can scan it at work.  My copy is kind of beat up too.  Either way, I'll email something to you, Gildor.  cool

Re: The Taproom

What a busy lad you are.

I see that 'leaders' are now beginning to emerge in the Fellowship voting. Ingold's early lead has been eaten away, and he's been joined by Boromir with horn and that Dol Amroth floozy our resident Ranger has his eye on (now I know why he likes dark corners!).

Re: The Taproom

That seems. It appears that Ohtar will have to wait for other opportunities.sad

As is the thing, Ingold will have my support (a character secondary less to complete) wink

By the way, Gildor, thank you very much for your effort. Who might take vacations! But I fear that for now can not be ....roll

Re: The Taproom

oh well, vacations are the perfect time to fill a database smile

I have been away from this work for too long, hopefully by september, all Mithril references will be entered... I admit I still have to work on some pictures to make them fit for the database (and be sure there is no copyright problem,  as some of you may have noticed, I got authorization from Mithril to use official pics so that this database is an "official and secure" information source, but that means I Must be careful not to put images that are not extracted from anything else than the advertisement sheets or ebay offers done by Chris Tubb or Mithril... any other pics are for the "bottom gallery", which leads to the possibility of having pics for the "bottom"... and not for the "upper gallery" especially hard for prototypes... unreleased MW (which do not have copyright at all since they were not sold)... old Christmas... and everything below MB358

Re: The Taproom

I added a little "tool" in the database search engine, for "Complete listings" search.
Since I have all the LO,LR,LT and soon MC and MCD too, along with the prototypes (ME), Christmas (Chr) and everything... If someone wants to "display" a full listing by reference let's say... the list will begin with LO, LR, LT and only then M (it is alphabetical). I gave the possibility , for this search, to ONLY display the M range. so that no other will be displayed (and since M range is the most sought after)
Indeed, if one wants to display only the LO, LR, or any "special" search the "advanced search" allows that if you ask for special ranges only to be displayed. (you can for example, display only the M range, via the advanced search too, but many people will want to have a full list of M only, without having to process an advanced search)

I thought it could be interesting for "hurry" collectors in search of some info ...

Don't give up on him, Master Erchamion - he may not make it this time, but Ohtar is a fine suggestion that would make a nice figure, so please do suggest him again.

Re: The Taproom

Well the Fellowship poll has closed, so it looks like the three finalists will be Ingold (yay), Boromir with horn (also yay), and that Dol Amroth person (again). But is 35 votes an all-time low? It's certainly unimpressive.

Re: The Taproom

well we are in summer time many people are not there around (or do not care)
No mystery that we have members of the GF who are members only to have access to the figs but they do not care about what the figs are, they collect them, they want to have access to them, they are GF "passive" members .... that is the majority of the GF membership I think...

Re: The Taproom

I think you're right, but not voting is a good way of getting a figure that you don't really want rather than one that you do - unless you want them all! But even then I'd have thought they'd prefer to see some figures produced before others. After all, none of us live forever (unless, of course, any Elves are reading this).
