A clean glass? What's wrong with them that Nob has spat on and polished?
On a more Mithril-oriented theme, I was pleased (and at the same time in some ways surprised) to see that the Dol Amroth dudes include another Prince Imrahil - pleased because it's reassuring to those that always worry that figures produced for the Fellowship range might consequently never feature in a standard 'M' range; and surprised because of our Ent having financed an Imrahil of his very own at no inconsiderable expense. Did you know this one was also coming, Master Tree? Or has it come as something of a shock?
Offline
Rhuooomm ... none of a shock, as you say Master Barliman , and it didn't surprise me at all.
As I learned before submitting the Imrahil as an MX.figure I knew that there was an Imrahil sculpted for the "Swan Knights". Different pose but nonetheless being a prince of Dol Amroth.
I chose the MX-Imrahil to announce the sale of the "Knights of Dol Amroth". ... rhuooomm...
As I was in close contact with The Man while considering the release of the Swan-knights I have to state that he helped me a lot ... rhuooommm ... of course I was aware of the Imrahil in the set of the 'Swan Knights' but also wanted to have the battle-worn Imrahil as something special ... rhuommm ... and so is the variant with the sword ...... rhuoommmhommm

Ah ... rhuoommmm ... I just came across "The Court of Ardor" which was new to me .... huommm ... great job indeed, Master Gavin ... hom ... and not forgetting Master Gildor behind the screen ... hom ... so, Master Barliman, top up the glasses of those two gentlemen, please ...hom!
Offline
I must admit I haven't had time to pop into the Court of Ardor yet (a very grand name for a lounge), but I shall take a look round in there when I next go in to drain the slops tray.
Offline
the court of Ardor is in progress indeed, but all the material for it is in the hands of Gavin, I don't have the info myself...
all credits is to him, I only made some "post display setup"

Huoommmm ... I am glad that Master Gavin decided to take care of the Court of Ardor ... huommm ... methinks he's the one who knows best about them MERP-related matters ... hom ... thanks, Master Gavin ..... rhuooommmmm...
well, rumours, Master Barliman, none? ..... alas ... huoommm ... so those matters about the GF-monthly suggestions have obviously been settled by now .... huom ... in future there will only be single figures a month (unmounted and no accessories) .... huomrhuom ... that will ease the pressure on Master Tubb a bit and allows him more time on the regular Mithril releases ... homrhuom ...
as the regular Mithril releases are to be regarded as the core of the Mithril range they shouldn't be overshadowed by the "Fellowship stuff" .... rhuoommm.... someone said recently ... huom

And it's very true. I hope that we haven't seen the end of mounted Fellowship figures or vignettes for ever, though. At the moment I gather it's just for the rest of the year, so presumably things will revert to normal next year.
Offline
Huoommmm ... that's what I also hope, Master Barliman .... hom .... by the way The Man thanks you and other members for our consideration and concern about these matters .... rhuoommm ... he might even have finished William by now and says that a 12 figure backlog should not occur ..... hom ... the Witch King, Theodred, the dead rider, the Arnorian knight and Rhudaur king, and the M500 Gandalf already have been sent to Ireland recently .... so, huoomm... we'll see ....

I like to this...
I'm looking forward to see the the pics.

That's a bundle of news and no mistake, Master Tree - worth at least one bowl of golden water with just a hint of alcoholic after-taste.

Thank you all for that good news, even if I have to fear now for my portmonaie. Maybe an enchanted trollish money-pocket would be good to have (those pockets speak bad words if you empty them ;-)).
And: Yes hope to see those preview pictures soon! I enjoyed much Chris' vision of a Rhudaur Hillmen King and the Arnorian knight- I still love the Angmar/Arnor story.

Well, the Fellowship vote was a real contest this month, but I'm pleased that Ingold won in the end, even by so narrow a margin. It will be very nice to have a character that we've never had before, either from Mithril or anyone else for that matter!
There was certainly a lot of support for Master Savage's Boromir-with-horn suggestion, and it's to be hoped that he'll put it up again soon. I'd very probably vote for it myself, since, as I mentioned in the Fellowship forum, Boromir blowing his horn is a genuinely icnoic moment in LOTR and merits being represented in the range. Come to that, though there are other Boromir figures, it's been a while since we've had a fresh one.
Mentioning fresh ones, who needs a top-up?

I need some refreshment master Butterbur... I have been scribing all day long to fill up my database!!!
Almost finished! up to MV419!!

Huooommm ... excellent work, Master Gildor .... rhuommm ... as Master Barliman, is not able to cope with serving some liquids here ... rhuoommm ... I might try to draught some of them pipes here ... rhuoommm ... just to fill your decently earned bowl of water ... yepp ... hruomm ... alas ... that's quite something pouring out of that ... rhuoommm ... never mind, Master Gildor .... it's for you ..... rhooom.

I'll have a top-up please. Congratulations on Ingold Barli - my thinking behind supporting him was if you don't get him here, then we never will.
He don't have a big part, but I think it is these 'dark-horse' characters that CT springs nice surprises on us with when he does get the chance to sculpt one. Halbarad as an example is still one of the nicest figures out there IMHO!
Boromir blowing his horn would make a great figure too and like others I would like to see this version produced.

huoommm ... Master Ddaines, you always can ask about topping up, even though the bottom of your glass is quite visible from here ... huoomm ... anyway ... hom ... I also did vote for that lad our barkeep suggested ... rhuoommm ... not because of him, of course ... hom ... as I painted some Boromirs already (none of them blowing a horn) this Ingold is a new 'personality' to appear from all the small characters mentioned in RRT's- writings .... rhuoomm ...
suchlike was Halbarad indeed ... rhuoommm ...

Thankee kindly for the support. I'm sure The Man will do Ingold proud.

Hey Barli, is that the first one that you have won? If it is that is great and the next round is on me!
Offline
Not the first one, no - Eorl was also mine (though it took about ten attempts to get him!). Ingold was quite a quick runner by comparison - I only suggested him four times, I think. But don't let that stop you buying a round for everyone - it would be quite a cheap one at the moment, mind you, since there doesn't seem to be anyone about - not even that Ranger who usually lurks in the corners. (Haven't seen him for a while, in fact. Let's hope the trolls haven't got him.)

Rhuooommm .... as for the liquid which is paid for by Master Jdbrown55 I would like to take part in that ... rhuoomm ...
Hom ... Master Barliman keeps good records about his suggestions indeed - in spite of telling evreybody that his memory is like a lumber-room. ... rhuoommm ... at least he did not forget any single tap ... well, a long time ago that was ... huoommm ...
Ahem ... the Man in the Dark is present, Master Barliman ... hom ... he can cope with one or two trolls ... rhuoommm ... maybe you were not aware of him because in between I was cleaning those d****d wargskins again (<-- means dusty) ... rhuoommmhuommm .. as for wargs, one has been given a different shape I heard ... hom.

It is kinda funny that when I joined the fellowship club, my first suggestion that I made went to the second round and since then nothing. My Rider of Rohan blowing his horn was the best one that I have suggested. I am not as well versed as most of you guys in the Tolkien world, so I don't have a lot of suggestions for figures. The Lord of the Rings is my favorite books, so I really just want the figures from those. I am trying to think of a good one for this month, so wish me luck and maybe I can win one too.
Offline
When we're allowed to suggest mounted figures again, you should certainly give the Rohirrim with horn another outing - the arrival of the Riders of Rohan on the Pelennor Fields blowing their horns is one of the most emotional moments in LOTR - book or film! (I shed genuine tears when the Rohirrim crest the rise in PJ's movie, every time I watch it. Sad git, or what?)

Don't forget Ent Trumpeting, Barley. A nice one that.
I shouldn't give you any suggestions, Jason. I've only had one win and that was the third fig in. I was starting to feel like a vote from me guaranteed a loss. Thankfully Ingold did indeed win.

You're right, Mistress Wendy, I had completely forgotten the Ent! (memory like a lumber room, etc...) I guess three victories is nothing to complain about, but I'm a long way from beating the invincible Dave's record!
