Re: Arthadan's conversions

Some new stuff (sorry for the big pics)!

First a Prince August mould miniature that I cast long time ago. Metal was too hot and some details didn't came out well hence the new head, axe and no central part on the shield. I've sculpted the higher hand and the mane and some filling here and there.

I think it looks like a Northman mercenary rather than a Rohir because the two handed axe doesn't seem very Rohirric-like to me.

And now a plastic Wargames factory miniature I have been having some fun with:

Please check out my galleries to see some older works such this:

Re: Arthadan's conversions

I thought I have seen this hooded running orc already ???
Working with that milliput stuff for myself at present I can confirm that there is a high skill necessary for that work.
Very well done, Master A.
The northman mercenary is also very interesting! A great idea.

Maybe the magic was the most powerful force in the world. But that was long ago.
The dragons are gone, the giants are dead and the children of the woods are forgotten.

And I still have to add the earlier rohirrim on foot...

It's a lot of work, I hope it won't prove to be too much.

This is very good start. I am always impressed by conversion skills.
And I like the purist details you put into it. Keep going!

Re: Arthadan's conversions

By the way, I've realised with this batch of miniatures Mr. Tubb insist in placing shields as far away as the body of the warrior as possible, instead of using it to protect it.

I mean this:
LT2 LT5

Then we have this combined with what I call the "Errol Flynn fancy fencing pose", which makes little sense if you have a shield to parry with:
M510

This is brilliant in another level, the warrior is blinding himself with his own shield:
M513

I've bent shield's arm closer to the body in a more believable position and I think they work better.

I don't think so... He is just showing the enemies his shield and yelling: Look I have a brand new shield!! shot me your arrows to try it's thoughtness.... xD xD xD

I like all yours conversion figures Master Arthadan.... increasingly appears to me the desire to invest some money in new "old" copies of mithril miniatures ...

Re: Arthadan's conversions

Some conversions from my Muster of Rohan proyect:

My take on Erkenbrand using Aragorn at Helm's deep as base and a rohan standard, you can see both in my gallery.

As usual all compliments master Arthadan... great conversion... I will use this 50% discount on Wednesday, to fill out the collection of figures for "butchering", cutting and convert them into new characters....
