Up late, or awake early? Either way, it's not the best time of day to make sense of anything (I speak from experience).

Me neither. But then I suspect HD2 will win. But I can honourably vote for the Grey Company anyway.

Master Barliman, I need a barrel of that hard stuff too. These discussions in the other rooms are very draining......

By "hard stuff" I asume you mean the scrumpy that's set solid in the barrel? I'll get Nob to bring you a hammer and chisel. It makes great toffee.

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

mmhh nice sculpture indeed... though this is entirely NOT canonic.. and Tolkien Enterprise allowed for such nonsence?

or maybe they were not even consulted because... the name is GimlY...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

They probably haven't caught it yet. It took TE/MEE three years or more to catch on to what Thomarillion were doing - and fortunately I got many of their Ents and one of their super-massive Grond kits before the "cease and desist" order arrived.

. . . and I am a lucky owner of a last column of Khazad Dum and their marvellous Stone Trolls from the Hobbit scene . . .
Unfortunately a bit too large for my taste . . .

@cameosos: nice figure. and for no nonsense at all, as Master Gildor pointed out . . .

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Nice figure indeed. But I was thinking that Gimli (or Gimly) finished in a different way... on his end.... or it is a secret .... Perhaps it is indeed in the north before he sailed with Legolas encountered snow troll and got a handful in the nose... !

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

It is not Gimli! It cames from the upcoming videogame War in the North, the Gimli-looking Dwarf is a brand new hero the have created for the game. Check one of the trailers.

Here you are the sculpt description.

Updated: Trailer with the snow Troll himself.

Animation of this game is perfect. It is a pity that I have no more time to play something like that. In fact I do not even remember when I was last time played a PC game. I think before 5 or 6 years.... or more...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

when I say nonsense it is not in an artistic way, this piece is wonderful... it is a nonsense in term of background and respect of the work... the fate of Gimli is well known and it has nothing to do with trolls smile but I am not sure this sculpture will be available for a very long time ... like Thomarillion...

and well... give me something refreshing i am not in a good mood tonight master Barliman... wrote to the man, wrote to Michael, wrote to some people... fed up with all this bu****it mithril is doing with my ideas...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

No, Master Elf. It's not supposed to be Gimli, but a Dwarven Champion of Erebor (since Gimli came from erebor too, that's why they both wear the same kind of armour).

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

(I moderated myself and erased my own message on the official board in answer to arthadan, so I will answer here :

Arthadan wrote:

Maybe August is not the best month for anything forum-related as people can be on holidays.

I have voted for Heroes of Rhovanion, as I think Mithril should begin to open market with new customers. And today better than tomorrow.

[sarcasm on] new customers found where? smile  [sarcasm off]

well I hope HD2 will win anyway... because if it fails, I fear we never see it again... and they will be cast... into oblivion as , if nothing changes, this "test" of new M range is doomed to be a total failure and will stop... after the FIRST suggestion...

sorry... not in good mood

besides as I said elsewhere, I'd prefer to see Mithril having released all they still have to release before (they try) producing anything new....if they cease releasing anything in a not so long future due to bad sales...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

@ all: i apologize for the confusion -- it's not (officially) gimli, and the snow troll doesn't have a name, either -- sideshow / weta is doing everything according to the license they have acquired.

just me "rewriting" the story to fit my preferences, is all (and spicing up the background for this wonderful diorama) -- if in the future you read a post of mine and it's "non-canonical," it's made up by me -- unless i link to another reference.
