Re: THE TAPROOM 2

The M17 ?!
A really marvellous figure! No thank you Master Attic Warden!
I have one, already painted and placed inside a diorama with his chieftain! cool

But it is very kind of you to mentioned it for me, sir!
PS: I think it is better NOT to understand what is written inside the german section . . . in this case . . .

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Huuoommm ... I simply forgot about all that ... rhuoomm ... but that doesn't matter to me ... huom ... my "Hirluin" has no such special base marking, as you call it ... huoommm ... though my PM1 is the first casting, as The Man once gave it to me for something I do not remember well, but he confirmed ... huoomm ...

Jumps in quick before Virgin broadband wireless router fails again!!!! sad. I have never looked Master Milo, or if I have I don't recall a No. 1 being engraved there.

I too am not worried about the casting number and have never asked or reminded Mithril about it mainly because by the time I started to get some winners I had forgotten about this.

I would've much preferred that a Collector of Mithril figures received the No.1 casting as more than likely I would have cut the base off anyway, at least someone who keeps them blistered or doesn't rebase them could appreciate the exclusivity of No. 1 casting.

Re interest on the GF board, I have to agree with Barli - too many of us have tried time and again to give constructive input to MM only to see the 'square root of F*** All' happen big_smile. It does take 'two to Tango' as they say in Rhovannion, and MM only seem to tango when it suits.

Concerning Crebairns- as promised I show a (ugly) pic of this flock of bats.
It was a concept for a Dwaw-of-Waw-scene, which I haven´t realized.

Looking at this little collection of bats it is a pity that The Man didn't add a little extra sprue of metal with some Crebain like this.

I hope you DO eventually realise this Master Archer wink

Are these Ral Partha bats? If not, who's the manufacturer?

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Thank you for your interest, Master Barliman.
No, the bats are not from Ral Partha, they are from masquerade. I bought them nearly sex years ago . . .

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Yes, thanks very much for the link, Master Archer. I've just ordered some! I've never encountered Masquerade before, but their figures look very nice indeed, if the pictures are accurate.

About No1 on base for winning ideas... I have 2 engraved figures... The only thing I did not knew it was possible, is this option that they write for you on the box or label: "the first casting" .... hm...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Huoommm ... I don't have the time to check each and everything ... rhuomm ... but, to be honest, Master Gildor, I'm not very much interested in such things any more ... huoomm ... there should be a "number1" of the MS571 "angry Ent" and one of that MS555 Hirluin ... or not, I dunno ... rhuoomm ... too many tiny-metal-figures by now, you know ... alas ... huoommm ...

Master Barliman?
huoommm ... would you please give each of the regulars around here a free drink, please ... huooomm ... please, I said, right? ... huoommm ...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Well, being thankful of your encouraging words, I am afraid to have lost my passion for that diorama . . .  hmm
That happend when I became aware of the existence of this special prototype . . .  hmm
Since that point of time I don´t like this LR-figure anymore . . .  hmm

So there are three: hmm

PS: For your memory:  I was highest bidder on ebay for this prototype before The Man cancelled this auction . . .  hmm

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Huoommm ... there'll come a day I will understand your decision about that loss of passion for that idea ... rhuoom ... as for the prototype-Dwaw, I don't really know ... huoomm ... I can well understand why he cancelled that auction after becoming aware what happened to Ms423A ... huoomm ... though, on the other hand I could not understand him selling figures that were once passed over as "special gifts" ... rhuoomm ... even Môrlass was casted again after the first 3 figures ... huoommm ...rhuom ...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

it is not easy for the man to be fair toward every collector.. some are serious and humble collectors, others are proud or businessmen collectors...

some have money, some have less money but are no less deserving to have highly collectable stuff...

the fact Chris is a modest person himself may forbid him to practice sorts of hardcore elitism... I will not enter into details but I have had experiences about that with some figurines already...

lately the man seems to want to put the focus on imagination and possibility rather than high collectible value... that's why he sculpts remakes, that will allow to use old and rare thematic figurines but in newer versions and for reasonnable prices

but these are only guesses indeed

Huuooomrhuoommm ... don't get me wrong, I did not want to criticize at all ... rhuom ... I just said that I can well understand decisions being made .... huoomm ... as for you, Master Gildor, I can be sure what you're talking about concerning "special gifts" and I can tell without any envy that you well deserved yours .... rhuoommmm ... huommmmm ...
