If a gun would be a better way to portray it to a non-literate (in the sense of this book) audience, It'd surely be there!

To shoot them, I hope.

Depends whether you put in any commas.

It's obviously from an unarmed figure.

Er, you're in the wrong room, by the way, Master Tree - the taproom is down the corridor.

Nice riddle for Christmas......
After spending some time searching and searching I came to this conclusion: it was a rohir sword.
Theoden had a similar one.....
And another rohir warrior also had one....
Both had remarkable similarities with yours, Master Tree, but the arm did not have the elbow
Finally, searching, I found it: this is the right arm of M262 Eormer
Good way to get to Christmas, with a traditional riddle
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Just magic moment to see so m any hobbit holes, children, the market.....

I think your last suggestion was right, Master Erchamion ... must be the swordarm of M262 Eomer ... though my figure is complete and I still don't know where that arm came from ... strange world this is .... Anyway, you won this year's Christmas riddle, Master Erchamion, so tell me please, what I can send you as a price ... (please don't ask for rarities as I do not have any doubles) .... MERRY CHRISTMAS to all ... huoomm...

I hope you manage it, Master Milo. I've been twice - prompted by the scenery in the movies, needless to say, and I can say without any fear of ever being proved wong, that New Zealand is the most beautiful country on the planet. There aren't enough superlatives in any language to do its landscapes justice.
We visited nearly every movie location, and even got to be shown around Weta Workshop by Richard Taylor himself (he's a friend of a friend) - I have a picture of Mrs B holding his Oscar! Handling some of the armour and weapons from the films - and seeing the miniatures ("bigatures") used for the special effects, was an awesome experience.
But now it looks like we shall have to go again. The Hobbiton site had pretty much turned back to slopes and holes when we visited last, so its good to see that it's being restored as a permanant location. (Note to self: start charging more for drinks so that we can save up enough money as soon as possible...)

oh I know I will go see the movie and enjoy it... as a movie.... as interpretation I'll certainly close my eyes..
as for my wife she has already decided to boycot the movies altogether... and I think she'll keep true to it... mostly because it is in 3D and she can't stand (physically) 3D as I said before...

(oh ad still Balin and Thorin are from same family, Thorin is older than Balin and well... it happens that Balin ended up being a king... while Thorin died in the process of trying )

Dear, Master Tree, your desire to make Christmas something special every year through his riddles is sufficient price. Really, thank you very much for this ....

I must disagree: fat dwarves or thin dwarves make a HUGE difference. Same with Hobbits! If they're thin, they're far less tasty ;p
*looks at Milo and ponders if he would make a nice meal*
Well, anyway, as Gildor said, I probably see the film on DVD and not on screen because I can't stand 3D (3D = massive headache). Or, if we're lucky, my father and I will try to find a backward theater with no films in 3D to see it.

Ah, I see that the role of Dain Ironfoot has at last been cast - he's to be played by Billy Connolly. Should be good in the part, I imagine.

So, it's not to be Brian Blessed after all!

I wonder how it will fit into the story.... like a flash from the past.... incorporated into the vision of the future .... in 3019 in the Third Age, when he was killed.... maybe somebody will play Thorin III Stonehelm... ( Russel Crowe.... )
