Well, thank you very much for supporting me keeping on with this ... though Elrond and I had a very serious discussion about how to stop them galloping Easterlings last night ... at least he tried to convice them not to be too hasty ... well, in case someone misses the Easterling-series sculpted by The Man, as much as I do, I felt free to collect those old Huns in resin ...
that's how I try to cope with ... err ... things

I admire Elrond's guts, standing up against the Easterlings! The Huns are rather fun - who was the manufacturer? They look quite "old" - circa 1970s maybe?

Well, our Travelling Elrond has to face some challenges each weekend.
Master Barliman, you were very close judging about the age of my Huns. In fact those were the early 60s when they were unleashed for about only some years by a company called Hausser, which later was called Elastolin-Hausser. All figures then were hand-painted by the company, so please don't mis-jugde me of my poor painting-skills, please. By now I have all versions and some of the Huns' conversions from a private collector, all in all I might call it a horde by now. They're hard to get by and some of them are a bit expensive. Mind that Elastolin-Hausser produced 4cm and 7cm figures. When I was young I couldn't afford any 7cm figures or war-engines. But the 4cm-ranges comes closest to 32mm-Mithril, I think.

Ah, rats - I guessed 60s to start with but then changed it to 70s simply because I suspected they were pre-painted and didn't realise that there was anyone producing pre-painted 30mm figures at that early date. Elastolin's own were about 54mm, as we all know, but I've never heard of Hausser before. Presumably Elastonlin took them over to try to break into the 30mm market?

Perfect scenes for Master Archer I hope that one day Chris will sculpt mounted Easterlings... !!!

The least thing I am after is to boast with some figures. I do hope you believe me.
But, you know, these things are meant to be collected, played with but not being caved or covered in some cabinets or drawers.
Well, to cut it short, thing is that our dear Master Travelling Elrond overheard that I was talking with Master Gildor about taking some small pics for his database (which always reads "no picture yet", or something like that). Two days ago that was, I think.
It all was about Christmas figures and that.
This morning I witnessed our dear Travelling Elrond giving instructions about who's who and where to place for the pic ...
he simply pointed out that we'll have only those Aragorn-figures in the same pose ...
well, dear friends, just to be honest ... that Elrond caused me a lot of trouble by now ... and today this was not the ent of it ...
Offline
... alas ... he went on ... not asking me of course, though I always try to host him well ... just watch what he did, mostly always instructing my figures ... even ... er, can you imagine a sentence like "Galadriel, please come over here, ney there, now that's better .. stay!"
well, turn a bit ... yes, that's slightly better ...
Eowyn, didn't I tell you to stay back a bit ... alas ...

See what I mean, he's made a mess of my dear figures ... and went on ... alas
telling one of my most-loved Harad-conversion to come down from that socket (fortunately he didn't listen to Elrond's order)
then Elrond disappointedly turned to teach Môrlass how to behave ... [at least that was eye in eye]
you know what happened after that ??

alas ... "I wish it was night and the ... " you know ... he became aware of a nice company of Dwarves then ... my most loved Dwarves ... you know what Elrond did? ... he made them sing a song ... believe it or not ... he did ...
well, when Elrond asked me about further plans I simply shouted out loud NOT TODAY,ELROND; JUST LEAVE ME ALONE

Merci Theobald !
Helping Master ELrond to meet so many precious characters is a brillant idea.
And I guess he agreed that Harad-conversion is a marvel ?

Have a look at this amazing Wild Bunch!!!!!
These figures could be mithril figures.
They aren´t ! But they could be . . . already been sculpted!
Ha! The company simply doesn´t produce them . . . tss, tss. What a mistake!

I wonder if The Man has already passed them on to The Company? Could make a nice Phaeton Design release - The Mongols of the Asiatic plains maybe!

the company may never release the easterlings serie... but that does not mean they will never be released
as David points out, it would be quite good Phaeton figurines ... but that's impossible at the moment as Mithril still owns the right on them...

What a shame.

Is this really dust on the bar Master Barliman?!
If you will pass me my drink you can make some cleaning as well . . .

Sorry, Nob usually licks the bar every evening, but it's been so quiet that he's taken a few days' holiday.

Hello, dear Elrond-friends. Of course he's fine, didn't suffer neither from malnutrition nor thirst here (to be honest, he's doesn't care much about such worrldly-things, so a fine guest he is to host). I just wonder about where to send him next. Am I right that it's Master Protozeus? - In case I'm right I should better contact him soon. Need an address before I give our Travelling Elrond a nice kick, right?
Offline
HELP ! Can anyone help me, please? So far Master Protozeus didn't answer my question about his postal address. Does anyone here have some contact with him? I need to know what to do with our Travelling Elrond next.
