Mmmhh, no posts there . . .
Well, I am struggeling with a lot of photos taken from my last project . . .
That makes me real thirsty indeed.
Please Master Barkeep, may you serve me a "after midnight" drink.
If I remember right, Master Thingol will pay for all drinks of mine, is it right?!
So- if you like, join me . . .

Isn't it always "after midnight" to some extent? It's just a case of how long after. (I never understood that bit in the Gremlins movies about not feeding them after midnight...) So we'll just call this seven and a bit hours after midnight, and then I can sit and have a drink with you!

If you are still here I'll join you - a package arrived today with a certain Beregond getting hammered by a troll, so I'll celebrate its arrival (along with some other friends
).
Initial inspection is of a very nice set - the troll is smaller than some of the older troll releases - more akin to
M443 Dagorhir "The Warlord" & MS536 Half-Troll Angmar standard-bearer, but then it is still a very nicely done figure.
Guess I had better get priming
, Well done Barli for an excellent suggestion.
p.s. It is now 11 hours and fiftyfive minutes after midnight

Or twelve hours and five minutes before midnight if you want to feed your gremlin.

Ah, I thought Master Milo meant the missus rather than me when he said "Mater", so I ignored the message!

Sorry Barliman, wrong typo as I have been hasty again.
I meant MASTER of course:)

You lucky man! You have this materpiece already . . . I´m just a jealous guy!
Well, concerning this Troll, maybe it is because it´s a mountain Troll and those are a bit smaller . . .
Time for another "after midnight" - drink. I give you an invitation this time Master Barli, for this awesome suggestion!
. . .and Master David as well, he is around as I saw it . . .

Yes indeed, I was surprised it arrived so quick especially as I have an order placed mid March that has still not arrived yet (took advantage of the offfer that was on).
Re the Troll, yes he is proportionately smaller than the older troll sculpts, but this is not a critisism just an observation so that folk are aware
, but the detail looks to be very good (I haven't sprayed it yet
to see properly).
Re delayed shipments, I know that a lot of members here have experienced delays and it was interesting to note that I was sent an invoice along with a tracking number (which didn't register with ant.post) so I assumed the order had been despatched - this was my first order back in March.
I did email Joan at Mithril as it was a long delay and nothing had arriived, who told me that she had been off sick and was catching up with orders.
When Beregond arrived and still no sign of my previous order I emailed again and this time was informed that one of the figures ordered (Gandalf and The Witch King) was being recasted and primered as they had run out and my order would be despatched next week.
It was interesting to see that receiving an invoice does not necessarily mean an order has been despatched, and it would appear that Mithril will cast up older GF figures which makes me wonder if Bard and the thrush which if memory serves was out of stock has been recast yet.
It does pay to send chase up emails to find out what is going on with orders.
Anyhow, I hope the Troll and Beregond starts arriving all over Europe as it is every bit as good as the photos
.
Thank you once again for the drink Master Archer

well I certainly have not received invoice yet so I am not surprised
and I have time
Still I am curious about odd aspects as always : considering the high number of pieces for this vignette, in what king of packaging/blister did you receive it? Did Mithril manage to put all the pieces together in those small plastic universal blister? or did they used a blue box? (christmas) or old big red card blister with appropriate size ?
just curious you know

. . . a pity!
I expected somekind of a Blue Box . . .
Always welcomed Mater David!
PS: ups, again missed this "s" !

HA!
Just met the post-woman!
And I can say: all expectations are fulfilled!!!!
PS: a bit small that Troll . . . though richly detailed.

Well, after a certain look and after assembling and putting the figures on the cork I recognized,
that there is only Beregond, Pippin and the Troll.
That means, this kneeing soldier is missing . . .
Is your edition complete, Ma-S-ter David?

Huuoommm ... now that doesn't sound good ... huom ... not good at all ... rhuoommm ... though you don't have to stress that you found the "s" on your keyboard, Master Turambar ... nurhûomhu^mm .. ~ hoommm ... no harm intended ...

now if not only the shipping... but also the handling has some problem with mithril... this is indeed bad news not to mention it creates major problem concerning the current painting contest with this vignette...
I was a bit shocked when Ddaines said they used only the regular plastic universal blister for this figurine... either it is too small or will miss parts or there is a major risk of parts being damaged in the shipping... I'm not sure it is so "economically intesting" for Prince August to release everything on the same level of handling...

All this indicates, I imagine, is that Mithril no longer cast the whole quantity straight away (Durin VI is currently listed as "awaiting new stock", but Bard is available), to avoid having shelves groaning under the weight of unsold stock! Otherwise they wouldn't be limited editions, and they'd surely have recast Halbarad.
