Well, I come back, and what do I find? A tall screen-thing over the dartboard, and lots of washing up in the sink. I'll get rid of the screen as soon as I've woken up enough to see to it. In the meantime I think I'll sit and have a drink myself. Is the tree still serving?
I'll have a Northern Lights ale, please, my honorary temporary barkeep! Actually, make that two, in one of those strangely large metric-measure jugs....

Huoommm ... yes he is, Master Barliman ... trying to cope with running (not ruining) these very much valued premesis, Pony, it's called ... rhuoommm ... Northern Lights, yes of course, and a ... er, a bowl you mean ... gruoommm ... that's fine, let me offer you a NCBA and an IPA after that, please .... rguoommm ... alas, these metric measures also inclines a slight rise for them coiny-things, ya know ... huomm ... anyway, Master Barkeep, I just feel fine having you around here again, so the drink's for free [means you have to pay for the second one] ... rhuoommm ... ah, that screen ... sorry, I didn't have the time to remove it .... rhuomm ... so, just watch whatever happens ... gruoomm ... I'll wager a bowl for them 3 Lions .... gruohmomhom ...

Ah, but the kicky-ball game is not a sport I've ever followed, so missing it isn't a thing which bothers me very much. In the meantime, thanks as ever for keeping an eye on the old place in my absence. I'll worry about the financial damage of all those free drinks tomorrow. I'm sure it won't be considerable. I seem to remember JRRT described me as being well-off by Bree standards, so I expect I can afford it.

Here is your omelette master Tree !
Hey, Barli is back ? how were holidays ?
Let me tell you something: I could not find any more flour in the pony, so got to cook all remaining potatoes & eggs instead for everyone. I hope the miller will wake up early tommorrow morning for it's been 10 days without muffins here.
Far too long for hobbit's good breakfasts !
I'm glad you're back, really

I'll have a word with the miller. Actually, it's Mrs B that does the milling .... no, really - she mills at a watermill in a place called Houghton here in Bree. That's why there's been no flour. But your potato and egg solution sounds fine if you can manage it. They're not at all easy to mill - they tend to make a yukky mess between the grindstones.
The holiday was very nice indeed - lots of walking, fresh air and communing with nature. Actually, I'm not at all sure why I came back. Er, if I did come back. I'm not very sure of anything at the moment. I'll doubtless catch up with "real life" in a few days.

Having received my backlog of mail now, I've had a chance to examine my latest MS purchases that arrived while I was away. MS575 Mauhur and MS573 Saruman and crebain are both very, very nice indeed, but - and forgive me if this has been mentioned before or elsewhere - what's with the diminutive MS577 Huorn? He's barely as tall as a shrub. He's nicely designed, of course, as one would expect from The Man, but to me he looks ridiculously small, much smaller than the other Ent and Huorn figures that Chris has produced. What are your views, chaps?

Well Barliman, there were some odd knights around demanding a shrubbery.
Offline
"Shrubbery with violence", so to speak - somewhere to grow their Rohandendrons?
Offline
COmpletely true Master innkeeper...... Ent child is bigger than this Huorn.... Maybe this is angry Huron's child

Huuoommm ... that figure is still standing on my desk for quite a while now ... rhuoommm ... though I am always watering his roots, he doesn't grow .... hûomm ... to me that is a very rare species, called Bonsai-Huorn .... huoomm ....

The best explanation yet!

maybe due to posture ? MS77 Huorn has left leg bended. Mine is still in BLister, I shall check

No, it's nothing to do with posture - the fellow is just tiny! Just stand him alongside the other Ents and the Huorn from years ago.
