Re: The Taproom

Rhuoooommmm ... Well, Master Barliman, what about your remarks about some obscure bar tabs .... huoomm ... I still cannot understand, because sometimes I use to pay with coiny things, then sometimes some metal pieces have to do, rhuoomm ... and sometimes I pay with rumours ... as you might know .... rhuoomm ... good rumours by the way, not of the kind those Breeish people are used to .... hom.
Well, your guess was right, of course .... huom ... I heard that there are plans to unleash some of those tiny Mw-gentlemen this autumn .... huoommm ... the second batch, so to say ... hom

Re: The Taproom

I've been wondering for some time when they'd appear. Mind you, I didn't buy the first batch because of being in fiscally embarrassing circumstances at the time, so I probably shan't be indulging in te next batch either. But we shall see.

Re: The Taproom

Rhuooommm ... don't take everything someone mentions as being settled or even fixed  or even guaranteed ....rhuoommm ... I tried to get hold of some information about certain matters ... hom ... my concern, so to say, was about the M10 having a dagger or not .... rhuoomm ... you might remember ... hom ... so that problem is settled by now .... huoommm ... as you might know me of being a bit talkative and curious ... huom ... I was answered that ... hommm ... let me quote, please ... "Yes I do have another set of Mw346 Dwarves which I will be putting on Ebay this month (Dwarven bodyguards) as soon as I get the time."
Rhuuoommmduhomm ... "as soon as I get the time" might include a hint to a problem ... hom.
Nevertheless I wanted to let you know about this ... rhuoommm ... just a rumour, of course, Master Barliman .... hommm!!!

Re: The Taproom

Yes, I'd been watching the progress of the camel-rider between jobs behind the bar, and I had already gone past the point of being amazed when it reached £82+, but now I find my ghast absolutely flabbered (as we say here in Bree). I don't think I shall ever be getting one of these chaps now - why, I could pay Nob's salary for a year or more with that kind of money, and still have enough left over to defumigate the rugs!

Dear Barliman,

how I can understand you!! Some prices are quite awesome high. Maybe you can ask someone who is not selling anything he can "redo" (hope this riddle could be understand) wink
If I was skilled enough and had not painted my camel, I would "redo" it and built a large regiment to threaten Gondor and I would have send you one roll .

Well let's have another drink together with all those friends in here and a special toast to the longliving Gildor!!

Re: The Taproom

*a wandering elf enters with a great smile at the Pony's...* Ahh hello ladies, gentlemen...

I have a good news! Nob! go fetch your master, I wanna pay master Butterburr all the bills for everybody and also pay everyone around one of his favorite drink!  I'm back, and I'll have at last more time for everything!

(actually, I've got my promotion and I've been moved to my home town for my job... at last, I'll work 10 minutes away from home instead of 2hours each day!!) I'll have more time , soon, to carry on my work with fan pictures, and painting...

Oh also please note that I offer good prices for any figurines I still miss and that could be findable one way or another... I think most of you know what I miss smile

Re: The Taproom

Welcome back! I'm sure you'll be very pleased indeed to leave the travelling behind for a while. I remember when I had a job which invoilved me driving 100 miles a day - I had very little time for hobbies or taprooms then, I can tell you! It was a great pleasure to resign.

Now, about paying all those tabs...

Re: The Taproom

Congratulations on the promotion Gildor and good news about the travelling time, makes life a lot easier when the commute is short big_smile

On a separate note, I've just ordered some of the 'K-nigits' (Monty Python [and the Holy Grail] fans will understand the word!) of Dol-Amroth, so next week some time I should be in 'business'. Sadly it means I'm skint so I can't get any drinks in roll

I wonder if any will visit the Pony?

Dave.

I'm desperatly waiting for the knights... ot complete the "number/description of parts" info on the database...  (the knights are on the database, but lots of info are missing for them...)

Re: The Taproom

Huooommmm .... same with me, Master Gildor .... Mistress Mary Ann seems to be a bit busy ... huommm ... as far as I know the Knights must be on their ways by now .... hom ... just be patient, even the Irish cannot haste everything ..... rhuoommm

Huoommmm ...  as for those spent pennies, Master Ddaines, I suggest to ask Master Barliman to note your expenditure on liquids here on what he calls bar tabs .... huoomm ... I think that's what they're meant for ... so don't worry .... rhuoommmm

Re: The Taproom

Well the first round is very interesting with Old Tom hanging in there with a slender lead, I wouldn't like to hazard a guess at this stage who will accompany him across the line (assuming he don't eat too much mutton between now and then).

Actually the 'feet' is a very useful suggestion which I could use, but probably not at GF prices.

I awaits wiv baited breath! smile

Re: The Taproom

At the moment all that Round One is proving is which are the least popular suggestions (including Fatty Bombur, alas!), rather than which are the most popular. There's just a four-point spread between six figures as things stand, which is pretty much par for the first round now that voting is blind.

Re: The Taproom

Huuooommmmm .... voting will not be blind any more if Master Barliman reveals more details ... huomm ... but I've learned that this is what barkeeps are for .... ruhommm ... providing facts and rumours ... hom ... as for the facts, Master Barliman, could you please provide a topped-up bowl of clear clean honey-coloured liquid for Master Gavin, please? .... rhuoommmhomrhuoomm... he's doing a great job defining those old MERP-characters ... hooom.

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm ... so no one's here again listening to my soliloquies .... rhuoomm ... two days ago, While being absent here, I found that 'Lady' on Ebay ....rhuoommm ... hom ... ney, not the M16 ... a rather more precious one, methinks .... hom ... the gentleman who offers her has obviously misplaced her in the range he is offering .... rhuoommm ... if you know what I mean ... I did bid on her as for not letting her get lost .... huoommm ...hom
as I never saw her on Ebay and do not know about a second figure existing ... I decided to hold a hand on her .... rhuoomm ....
Nay, Master Barliman, these are not rumours .... rhuooommm ..... hommmmm

Re: The Taproom

Do you think my occasional references to the voting are in any way influential, Master Tree? Tut. That could only be so if I had a few more customers to influence! But how often does anyone come in here these days?

By the way, now that the leaves are falling I'd be grateful if you could sweep up after you as you leave, Master Tree - it will save me having to find Nob to do it. I have no idea where he is at the moment, but I suspect he may have gone into early hibernation. It's certainly been cold enough the last few nights.

wink"Submissed" the Romans said a while ago at your site ... rhuooom ... so should the last customer be responsible for cleaning up this mess, as you are not able to find your Hobbit?
aye, I'm taking out those smelly wargskins ... rhuooommmm ... always me ... hommm ...
Ahhh ... that good old pun with the leaves ... rhuoomm ... maybe Nob's gone to Hibernia for hibernation .... rhuoomm ... would make sense, wouldn't it ? wink

Re: The Taproom

Huooommmrhuoommm ... does anybody know about Master Ori ? .... huoommm ... my pigeons failed to meet him ... hom ...
alas, Master Barliman, why could those castings at the Company go so wrong? ... huoomm ... it's not that the figures are bad ... not at all, in the contrary ... huoomm ... that's bad for people trying to have an army of those tiny little metal things .... rhuoommm ... the point you made somewhere else about not being able to change riders and horses easily I regard as being the worst fault about the production of those brilliant figures .... huooommm .
Don't I have a free bowl of that liquid you offered me some days ago? I might be in need of it by now .... rhuommm ... sorry, but I was absent for awhile to watch other matters more closely ...
