What am I supposed to do with all this bread, porridge and kippers I got ready for you?
Offline
Just wai for another hobbit to come in maybe ?
Offline
Well, I'll go to the foot of our stairs (as we say here in Bree) - you're the first hobbit I've ever known to turn down a meal!
Offline
I will take some of that breakfast Master Barkeep! Riding horses all day can really make a man hungry.
Offline
Thank you Master Gildor. May I invite you to a pint of cool cidre . . . ?
Offline
What? - did Master Gildor come and go without me even noticing? They're fast, those Elves. Right, so that's one stale breakfast for the Marshal (what will your horse have? I can pour siome scrumpy in the trough if he's thirsty...), and a pint of cider for the Elf as soon as he comes back.
Reverting to an earlier subject of conversation, I've now put my MS573 (Saruman + crebains) together, and he is indeed a treat. It's always impressive how well Mithril figures fit together compared to the products of certain other LOTR figure manufacturers. I might get a chance to start painting him tomorrow. I think I shall paint the crebains as hooded crows, which will be more interesting than plain black!

Thanks a lot for the pint of cider Turambar, I'll need it
this forthcoming week will be one of the worst in terms of work schedule for me, I'm desperatly waiting for July 20th.... holidays!
I'll have more time for MMP then, I hope , and for my son too...
on a side note, I received yesterday the death of Elessar vignette, very nice indeed... the vignettes from Mithril lately provides great joy and enthusiasm for me even if the releases are scarce the quality is beyond measure!
though I had one question in minde... P.Jackson depicts all Numenorean/Dunedain kings with beards, regal good looking beards but beards nonetheless... Mithril and Chris never depicts them with beards or facial hair at all (Elendil, Anarion, Isildur, and now Elessar on his deathbed)
Though Arvedui and Argeleb have beard in mithril universe so old Dunedain can have beards ....
What's your opinion about Elessar being represented without beard on deathbed?

Thank you for joining me, good friend Milo, here is a smoke.

So there are no need for all peoples to have the nobles with a beard. Chris particularly likes to sculpt out the characters of Gondor. Maybe he uses their faces to show them as noble nation without beard..... characters from the films may not be the template for the characters from his thoughts... And I like Elesar / Gondor kings without beard.....

I think without a beard the figures appear more 'noble'
Although Aragorn with beard as in the film would make sense as a Ranger 'in the wild' where shaving would not have been a high priority.

Mithril Miniatures LOTR Painting Competition 2012: Beregond fighting Troll at the Black Gate.
Well the competition was fierce and the winners controversial. But finally we have the winners of the competition.
For 1st Prize: Daniel Alcubierre.
2nd Prize: David Daines.
Best New Entry: Geert Demarsin.
I will be contacting these winners tomorrow about their prizes.
I want to give a big thanks to all contestants as they provided excellent quality painting jobs and they obviously show a great pride in their collection and their attention to detail.
Well done Daniel and Geert, are you members here? (sorry if I haven't put a forum name to a real name
). My own personal favourite didn't make it which is a shame
, but I suppose the 'rules' could only stretch so far!

Well congrats for the winners and congrats to you too David !!
(oh by the way I just saw Erestor finally won the GF vote, how ironic, I did not even know it was submitted and did not vote this month (been really away it seems)
well I'm glad he won, I submitted him three or four times and well in order to win, I suppose I had to "look away"

Only second, Master Dave? You'll have to pull your socks up (does that translate outside our local Bree vernacular, I wonder?). All the entries were pretty impressive, though.

Congratulation David....
Cheers for your second place !!!! First prize winner is Thanniel he is on this forum... and congratulation for him too.... of course !

Yes, congratulations Thanniel, nice to know that a member of the MMP community has won
.

Thanks all, and congratulations to David too for your impresive diorama!
I come to the forum and the Pony almost every day, but i'm more a "reader" than a "writer".
And David, i think we can pay a for a round or two!

Indeed Thanniel
.
One thing is puzzling me - I changed the colour of the wings in Pippin's helm after Barli pointed out that they should have been raven's wings, yet in the entry photographs they still appear to be white
. I must have sampled too much of Barli's wares and sent the wrong photos
p.s. congratulations to all our Spanish members for their team's success in Euro 2012, a round for them on top of the competition celebrations

Bravo Thanniel and David, your impressive work really deserves applauses.
And thanks for the drinks.

I thought you elves did not feel scrumpy's effects as we hobbits do ? ups, Hic...

You're thinking about ordinary cider. I serve Prancing Pony scrumpy, which is strong enough to intoxicate a bronze statue! (It's also very good for stripping paint and removing stains.)
Offline
I should buy a bottle of scrumpy for cleaning my shutters then.

To me it's very nice not to have to take part in a competition but having some free drinks in the ent ... rhuoommm ... keep on ...
