Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Hello everybody
Master Barliman, please, I offer a  drink to everyones who will come and see you to celebrate my return after a difficult time. I lost my husband's mother, who was only 60 years old, after only 3 months of disease.
I didn't really have time to read your last messages and I apologize for it. But, I'm happy to be back among you.
By searching my papers, I found an old Prine august catalog of 1990 in very good state, with beautiful photos on CH figurines (I suppose that you know it all, but I put you some photos)

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Hi Mistress sevlag. I'm glad to see you back here.
Please send my condolences to your husband. Very sad news...sad

Indeed, your catalog is in very good shape. Thanks for showing it here (and for the drink tongue)
I wish I find it in the future as I only have scans of this PA catalogue.

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Master Barliman seems to be very busy these days. Shall we go behind the bar to serve ourselves ?
I would also like to share a drink to celebrate my 3rd winning suggestion in GF votes.

Cheers everyone !

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

huoomm .... as for the Pony ... er, so to say .... huoomm ... I once again feel a bit obliged to run these very-much-valued- premises for good ...  huoomm ... as our dear barkeep isn't  present ... rhuoômm ... hard work again for me ...  anyway ...
let me please let you know that there'll be no bribes be accepted until the end of the month ... huoomm ... no worse scrumpy than you're used to will be served beyond the bar ... gruoomm ... our Man in the Dark will keep you safe, once you're inside here ... gruomm ... not any regular, nor people passing by by will be offered any free drinks ... huoommrhuom ...
it's the Pony, you know, there's nothing for free .... rguoommm ... last orders at 10 and no bookings for any meals ... huoom ...
as for some bar-snacks, please mind that the menue has been reduced to what is called "leftover-fries with tasty beans and a slice of garlic-bread" ... huuoommm ... I'll try do do my very best running this job accordingly ... rhuoommm ... doubts there are still ... huommm... mind, I'm just a tree, neither a barkeep nor cook .... alas ... huûom ...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Mistress Selvag, I am more late than my good friend, Master Gildor. Please accept my condolences to your family.

And thank you Master Tree for your confidence in my "ranger" abilities to keep the environs nearby and the patrons of the Pony safe. Afterall, that's why Barli lets me drink for free!

So, I will have a drink with you, Sevlag, and all other good Mithril friends that pass through the Pony. And thank you very much for the dark corner in your tavern, I very much look forward to the pictures! I will bring my pipe  ;-)

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Huooôm-tidu-ti-dumm-ah-humpti-dumpty-toy-yeah ... laaaazy Sundi-afternooon .... er .... sorry ... what I want to say is that again I'm some troubely-things ... so maybe some humans around here can help to improve my so-called wisdom, which in fact is none ... groooum ... I received that standard-whirling-Halbarad-figure .... huom ... there's my problem with words of your languages ... hom ... so standard that is? ... but doesn't Lady Arwen hold a banner in the pose of the LR40-figure ? ... as for the size of the embroidered cloth it rather seems to be more a banner than a standard ... huomm ... then a standard usually is of a different shape than a pennant, right? ... huoomm ... more rectangular, I think ... gruûom ... and as for a pennant that standard is too large, isn't it .... hoommm ... so there's the word "standard-bearer" as we all know ... though with this Halbarad-figure it should be a "banner-bearer" ( I still like them  alliterations by the way) ...  huoommmmm ... see ... er ... read the description of the banner ... symbols, signs ... that should be depicted on that piece of cloth ... how to cope with that? ... huom ... a white tree (sic), some seven stars and a kingly crown, you know ... but how to paint that accordingly on an XL-pennant ? ... then there's our dear mounted Halbarad holding the unfurled banner, which seems to have more volume than an oversized pennant ... gruom ... no, definitely NO, there is no other Arwen-figure working on that banner ... but in case there was, that banner also would seem to be larger, right? ... hooooooommm ... please, don't get me wrong, as I think that the new Halbarad-figure is very nice, dynamic and excellent concerning the details ... hoomm ... just the standard causes me troubles .... huommm .... now you're about to be in need of a drink, after you've read all these weird thoughts ... right? ... today it's for free and I'll scratch some marks on my bartab which Master Barliman still secretly keeps hidden over there ... cheers .... rhuoûoomm-ti-dommm

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

I think your observation is 'bang on the money' Master Tree. I think it should come down the shaft to just above his hand and proportionatly further out to be classed as a banner and to match that which Arwen is holding.

An odd oversight to make methinks neutral

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

The banner is simply NO banner. It is somekind of a boy-scout flag, as somebody told me. Very bad, I have to say!
The Man could do this better.

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

huoommm ... it's not me (that tree) wanting to citicize anything .... huomm ... I just was keen on some answers ... hom ...
er ... Master Ddaines, why not lengthen the staff to the ground until it meets Halbard's right boot on the inside ... huom ... which means he could hold and sway a banner of an appropriate size (in terms of physics) ... Huûooommm ... I just was bored this afternoon, then it's when I take some figures from my cabinets and try to think ... hoommm ... er ... by the by ... does anyone around here know why Caliban is collecting firewood ... huomm ... alas, thank you for reading anyway ... houommm ...

huommm .. ... ? ... I did not mention directly or refer to the Elven-princess-vignette ... as just another proof for the size of that piece of cloth, did I ... hoommm ... but what does it really matter ...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

I totally agree it is no banner, only a flag.
As I even do not like the helmet, I feel this one is not Halbarad but more a Captain showing his company's colors.
Then your suggestion of having staff to the ground and real banner makes sense. This could be the new Halbarad. wink
