Re: THE HOBBIT MOVIE

... I'm a "newbie" in the forum and honesty, I didn't read the last 12 pages!

just one thing about "The Hobbit":
1 small book = 3 movies
3 big books = 3 movies
!!!!!
I don't understand.... (or there's something I've missed  or I've understood!)

Re: THE HOBBIT MOVIE

First of all, welcome Master Sam; and second, no, you've grasped the concept of the Hobbit movie situation. As far as can be understood from the various media releases and interviews, Peter Jackson & Co are using much of the unused "back material" from LOTR, plus additional (invented?) links, to cover the 60-odd year period between The Hobbit and LOTR. Could be very interesting. Could also be very disappointing. Time will tell. For myself, I suspect that it will be entertaining stuff.

I hope I'm right!

Re: THE HOBBIT MOVIE

Welcome Master Sam, I'm happy to see a "Poitevin" here tonguewink. Don't hesitate to take some photos of your realisations.
And I agree with you, even if there's material to make several movies in the world of Tolkien, 3 movies for Bilbo it's a lot. But I'm impatient to see the 3 tongue

Re: THE HOBBIT MOVIE

Welcome, Master Sam. - I think the balance concerning time and volume between the three LotR movies (where important characters and scenes just were left out) and three Hobbit movies is a bit unproportional indeed. But those are movies, not books. So we'll see.

Re: THE HOBBIT MOVIE

Welcome Samwise, as already stated time will tell if 3 movies was a good move or bad, personally I think I will enjoy what is shown even if it strays slightly from what we know, as long as it doesn't get lost!

Re: THE HOBBIT MOVIE

many thanks for your nice welcoming!smile
I agree with all of you, even I don't change my opinion about the motivations of P.Jackson!

Nevertheless, I will see the 3 movies, that's sure like I'm sure to be satisfied!
It seems, but must confirmed, that Beorn will not appear on the movies exactly like Tom Bombadil in the LoTR movies.
If I have some more informations (or if somebody has!), I will share them with you.

Thanks to Thingol for visiting my blog and the nice comment.
And yes I will show here some (not a lot!) MITHRIL figures I've painted.
(I have almost finished the vignette: "In the House of Tom Bombadil")

You're hasty Master Barliman ... and thank you for the link, Master Erchamion. Well, it might be interesting to spend some part of a night watching all of that, meseems. As for me I'm a bit keen on that wood those Elves live in.

Re: THE HOBBIT MOVIE

That's strange but I'm not very enthusiast after this trailer!
Too much action and "dramatic" effects for me, I suppose?
I'm sceptical, but I hope that it's just a feeling!cool

(my son-9 years old- love  the trailer!lol ....especially Gollum, my precious!)

Maybe the magic was the most powerful force in the world. But that was long ago.
The dragons are gone, the giants are dead and the children of the woods are forgotten.

1-I don't want to do "eternal advertise" for my blog!!cool
if I give here so many links to it it's because it is the memory of what I do...
easier (and faster !) for me to put here 2 or 3 pictures (quick downsize with Photobucket!) and a link!
you can also read the comments in additional information.
Nevertheless, every body is free to look at or not!

2-In the case of The Hobbit trailer, I've put the link BECAUSE I think that some comments are interesting and I can't copy them here, no?

3-"the Hobbit" movie? I've seen the trailer some other times and honesty, I don't recognize the book!!!!!
there is something wrong in the $$$$ P.J. work !
it looks more like a movie for children (but the book is for children!).
I could accept that but I'm not sure that I will be happy to see it like I was when I've seen the LoTR films...

4-thanks for the link! so, that's done: "Action Figures" then Video-Games, etc....roll
