Re: The Taproom

I have spoken to Master Ori on the MSN chat room thing recently and have noticed a couple of times that he has 'signed on', but I haven't been able to 'chat'.

I recently swapped emails with pictures of the Prancing Pony, so he is still out there, but as a newly married man I expect there are many other things to keep his mind occupied big_smile

Re: The Taproom

Yes, it's a great disappointment the way they were cast. The Man is clearly just as disappointed as we are. Makes me wonder even more why the factory did it. Was it a breakdown of communications somewhere, perhaps? Still, it's proverbial spilt milk now, and I guess we're stuck with it for ever.

Congratulations on the promotion Gildor, as well as the shorter trip to work smile.  Thanks for the heads-up to Barli and Theo as well - it sounds like the new figs won't be that easy to modify, although I suspect that if there is one, and he has time, Holger will find a way wink.

Re: The Taproom

(Shaking the rain off near the doorstep, staggering to a bank near the fireplace.) Oh, well met! Finally a place to rest. I am a weary traveller, back from passing the mountains after scouting the Nimrodel near Lorien. Dear Barliman, one pint of your strongest, please. I saw an ancient statue ... doubly ... of a lady of supernatural beauty and aura - and I had no ale at that time, I swear ...

Well, my brew will enable you to see all kind of things, so you rest your eyeballs in here for a while before you take them outside again. But welcome to you!

Re: The Taproom

Ah, this one's the kind of customer I like - he's got coiny things and is generous! A rare combination.

I have a rumour for my clients, by the way. The Man has mentioned that he's working on another M series that he says he'll tell me more about in the next week or so. As usual, of course, this will doubtless depend on just how busy he becomes, whether he therefore remembers, and that both our servers function efficiently (and I don't mean Nob), but I can say it sounds interesting.

Re: The Taproom

the series consists on 8 figurines from what I heard.. and if I understood well, he is over working on it, they are finished already.

Re: The Taproom

Perhaps. But then, he told me he'd finished the Easterlings two years ago, and yet it seems that they're still being worked on even now! So I guess it's best just to wait and see.

Re: The Taproom

Hello there.

As Ddains said I have been very busy. Wedding, moving to a new home, getting internet service at home, changing work.... I have just been able to peek the mithril website to cast my votings. Sorry for disatending everyone.

Also, I have not been following the latest ebay auctions, just when I needed 3 more pices to have all the M series.

But things are seteling down I soon I might go back to me bench to finish my prancing pony diorama to compete with ddains one.

Re: The Taproom

Huoooommmmm ... welcome back here again Master Ori ... rhuoommm ... good to have you here again .... hom ... I tried to have some of me pigeons contact you lately ... hom ... they failed ... but that's settled now meseems .... rhuoommm ...
Well about those Easterlings I was told that they were finished before the Swan Knights ... hom.
And once again most of them horsed .... rhuoommm ... then there's the Rhudaur-series ... hom ... and as far as I can recall a second series of some other range .... huooommm ... all this is quite a lot and we shouldn't wager upon what comes next, I think .... huooommmm ... why be that hasty, why can't you wait ... in the end it's not us to decide .... rhuooommm
Nevertheless it always is a good matter to discuss around here ... hom ...

Re: The Taproom

The Easterlings nevertheless remain somewhat of a mystery. They've been reported finished on at least two occasions over the past couple of years but haven't gone into production. In addition no pictures of any of them have ever leaked out - The Man seems to regularly send out pictures to some of his contacts of at least some figures from each new range as he works on them, but no Easterling pictures seem to have ever been sent to anyone at any time...Or does anyone out there know better?

As I say, mysterious fellows, those Easterlings...

maybe the Easterlings will attack surprisingly and fast from the darkness of Mordor.....

I wished, Chris could send some non-official previews of every of his new figures to Gildor to support this excellent website. Maybe this could be arranged, maybe not. Even a designer has just 2 hands an one head and this one has a family.

P.S.: the mystery could create a special collector status if the figures look as amazingly good as the last releases.

Re: The Taproom

Huuoooommmmrhuooommm .... well, to be honest for the first time I'm a bit disappointed of a figure ... rhuooommm ... that bad lad in his true form is somewhat disappointing to me ... huooommmhom ... what is it he's wearing on top of his head? .... rhhomhom ... maybe the pic is much more worse than the figure itself .... huooommmmm .... compared with this one the Nazgûls of the LT-series are brilliant (if painted accordingly to the instructions there you can see faint remnants of their garment and armour) .... huooommmmm ....

Re: The Taproom

Thanks for the preview, Master Tree. I see what you mean about the Witchking. The two riders are fine, though, and I can see the living one ending up as one of my army commanders. Is the Dead rider finished, do you know? - I was wondering what his right arm does - is it holding a sword, or what?

I'll be sure that your bowl is filled to overflowing next time you pop in.
