You have to read the uneven sites in the books also, Master Sam Wise.
... well, Master Turambar, (I hope that it's not a sarcastic advice: I don't like that ....)
I must precise what I've said.... (sorry, but I don't speak very well english language : I don't understand " uneven sites " )
I wanted to say that, if my memory is good, they are not described when they happened but later, by Gandalf himself ?
(the same for Radagast, I believe ....)
It's a little bit like if he (Tolkien) don't tell some parts of the story himself ....
but no matter (except that I must read again the books !!
), I'm sure that it's not always useful to show (or write) all the events of a story in details and even in a chronological way!
Agree with Master Gildor about the P.J. movies: good action movies, and that's all!
but I fear that The Hobbit could be a bad movie....
and hope that it will be a good one!
(I will not see it with those b*********** 3D glasses
)

Like you, Master Gildor, I also enjoy the movies, though some of the changes have me almost spitting blood at the screen in annoyance (Faramir being tempted by the Ring, and allowing Gollum to be beaten up by a gang of Ranger thugs? - never!). But overall they're great entertainment. Perhaps the best way to look upon them is as being derived (not "derivated", gents!) from a secondary source, or as representing the viewpoint of another Third Age author who got his material from minor characters in the story who put their own "spin" on the dramatic events of their lifetimes.
Also, the HOME volumes are indeed worth their weight in gold - well, banknotes anyway. The Peoples of Middle-earth volume is fantastically deep and detailed, and much of it was originally intended as a further appendix to LOTR before being dropped because of the escalating costs of the publishing project. It even includes a reference to Dwarf ladies being bearded!

I didn't want to offence you Master Turambar! just a problem of language, like I've said, and I am accustomed to ask when I don't understand!

Hi Master Barliman,
It's raining outside today. Is there anyway I could dry my feet ? ....except that Wargskin which reminds me my fur is not long enough for upcoming winter ?
Oh, by the way, a warm 3rd breakfast with tee, pancakes, muffins, scrambled eggs, bacon would indeed please me.
Kshink...

Haven't got any muffins, Master Milo. Would you kike to try puffins? You'll have to move fast, though - they don't stand still on the plate for more than a second or two. If you miss 'em they might at least give you an egg.

Bolg looks like something out of Planet of the Apes
I like the design of the Wargs this time around (the film not GW's).
£35 for Goblin Town - this looks as much use as 'tits on a fish' and could be knocked up using scrap products at a fraction of the cost

Planet of the Apes . . . a perfect comparison, David!
This white colour is interesting still. Reminds me to an old video from Smashing Pumkins or a scene from Master Gibson´s "Apocalyptica".
The "new" wargs pleases me, too.(the film not GW´s)!
The GW wargs look very similar to those from Red Box Games, though there is only ONE at present.
But this one looks much better.

Huoommm ... alas, I just need some help ... rhuoommm ... trying to figure out which releases will be made until the end of this year ... hoomm ... so, MS-releases are that Goldberry, that bellydancer and maybe Master Erestor, right? ... huomm ... then hopefully this new Christmas figure ... hmmmhom ... just counting coiny-things, you know ... huom ... does anybody know about another release from Phaeton-Design this year - and what it might be? ... if it'll be a long-awaited vignette it might mean another heap of coiny-things to be thought of ... rhuoommm ... then there are those tickets for the movie-thing having to be bought ... etc. ... hooooomrhûom ... see what I mean? ... huom ... I'm just thinking about how to save some you-know-what ...
maybe Master Barliman would offer me some free drinks for free in case I play that Chistmas-tree again this year ... huoomm ...

If you can find any coiny things wedged between the floorboards you're welcome to them, Master Tree.

Are you going to play miniature golf? (A Hobbit joke.) .... Sorry, I'm being facetious. You meant tea, didn't you. Do you want a little umbrella and a slice of lemon in it?
Offline
Huoommm .... T, t(r)ee, tea ... isn't it all the same? ... rhuom ... and besides, Hobbit trees are called Bonsai, if I remember well ... huom ... they look nice with a small umbrella, but I'm not sure about that slice of lemon ... hoommm ...

Huuoommmm ... now what? ... not a single word? ... rhuomm ... ????? ... no, obviously not ... huoommm ... but lately other regulars were offered a free drink on an occasions like that ... huomm ... of course I can pay myself for a bowl of water ... rhuoommm ... that's for sure ... besides there's also my old tab Master Barliman still keeps ... huoommm ...
Ahem, dear ladies and gentlemen, you've still got no clue what I'm talking about? .... hmmm ... alas, some people call it xenophobia, right? ... huoomm .... doesn't ring a bell? ... no? ... er ... how to put it without being impolite? ... huoommm ...
so, just imagine there's a tree (different race, or living-thing) who once suggested on some board a musician from countries far from the south (different race, different culture, different country) ... huomm ... imagine that tree (which is me, of course) wins ... huoommm ... nothing happens ... huom ... silence ... now what conclusions can I draw? ... huom ... right, "We don't want to have you talkative trees along with your bl***y Harad-musicians around here any more." ... huom ... xenophobia that is to me ... huoommm ... might think it over again, there also might be other conclusions to be drawn ... huooommmmmrûom ...

I'm not xenophobic.... and I like your suggestion.... It would be good to do a full orchestra or just a quartet playing in the caravan sarai

Well, I give you that invitation, Master Tree!
And I give you a lot of congratulations for your winning entry.
Also a lot of compliments for that magnificent suggestion!
Cheers!

huoommm ... cheers, Master Turambar, and thank you very much ... first of all for the drink and ...rhuoomm ... those fine words, though they were a bit exaggerated ... huomm ... alas ...
Huoomm ... Master Thingol, I've been to some "caravan sarais", as you call them ... rhuommm ... but never found an orchestra around there ... and, be sure, I know you're not xenophobic at all. ... rhuoommm ... I just wanted to make fun exaggerating a little bit to get some attention to The Pony again (still run by Master Barliman, but who's at the moment still being busy to prepare his premises for that Yuletide-thing and downstairs is preparing his BBBB for Christmas - I saw the lables downstairs in the cellar, reading "Barliman's Best Bree Brew") ... and, Master Thingol, just to be honest ... how to make even a quartet out of a "single-figure-suggestion" ... rhuoomm ... even Ents still do not know .... huoommm ... sorry, once again I wasn't that much serious again, but it's better not to have me like that ... rhuoommm ... as I'm about to mix up each and anything around here ... hoommm ... I might better leave ... ggrrûuoommm ... got to have them d*****d wargskins cleaned again this year ... huom?
Does anybody know about all those hazards a life of a tree could have? ........... hmmmmmmmm .... I do have none of them. And feel fine ... rhuomm ...
