They don't. They barely get any sleep at all.
A for the riddle, why not? I failed miserably with the last one, but I seem to remember I won the previous year. It would be a good test to see if i still have any brain cells functioning!

Riddle ? I am here !

hmm ... silence , please, Master Milo, this is a very secret riddle, of course because I have not thought about placing another riddle here again after such a long time ... rhuomm ... though the riddle could not even be answered by our dear Elf ... hmm ... he guessed wrong ... ahhhhhhhhhhh .. the deer-barkeep's present ... alas, I'm caught ... huomm ... and have to cope with that ... pfff ... alright, my first question was put by me in one of my numerous entries lately. It was addressed to Gildor, who could not find correctly out about it, don't you remember? .... huoommm ... it was a kind of testing a riddle ... huomm ....
er, Master Barliman, do you think it better to have another thread being opened for such kind of a thing? ... anyway, rhuoomm ... if anyone finds my first question, I'll open a new thread for that ... hoomm ... see, Master Barliman, no time to play that Christmas-tree this year ... huoommm ... being a busy tree ... rhuoomm ...

I wouldn't even know where to look for your lost riddle, Master Tree! I don't read everything that passes here, alas - I just don't have the time. Can't you repeat it here?

Which older Mithril figure ,not clearly identified, always has been sitting in the Prancing Pony series Master Theobald?
Offline
Rick, you were faster that me, and I guess you found the testing riddle Master Ent is talking about.
Older Mitrhil sitting is M63 but I do not know if anyone saw the elven king here one day.

This is wrong, unfortunately, Master Attic Warden.

Huomm ... so there are three ... who might be interested in such Christmas-riddely-thing again, not counting me, the Tree, as then it would be 4 (which wouldn't ryme). - That's alright, because I only have 3 prices to give. So that's all . ... rhuommm .. so, if my calculation went well there could be three winners. .... hooommm ...
to start is to find my question, which Master Regalrick found out and answered, though he did not provide the answer to the question. - So might be one point for him, guessing the question correctly ... huoommm ... keep in mind, that this is just for fun .... huoommm ... I have to leave now because someone's coming upstairs , Im sure what he's carrying ... alas ...

Huoommm ... I forgot to mention that this time all archers from Mirkwood will not be allowed to take part in this riddle, as Master Turambar was the one who made me aware of that. I still hope he enjoys.

Does anyone remember that "Phaeton-Design" was discussed in March 2006?
You mean this question? ....... this puzzle-game-fun it is increasingly difficult .....

There are 7 characters sitting in PP:
M113 Strider & Sam
M114 Seated Cardplayers
M117 Seated Men Drinking
M120 Seated Lute-Player
If this is indeed related to Phaeton-Design, then the riddle's target has a beard.
So it is either M114a Seated human cardplayer, M117a Seated man with beard, or maybe M120 Seated Lute-Player...
My choice goes to M117a, Seated man with beard

This man with beard could be Chris
on the few available photographs, he wears a beard.... and maybe he also likes to play cards...

Yes, but I kept in mind he is an english man. So even if I do not know Chris hobbies, I am sure drinking a pint at the poney is something he would love to, whereas playing cards is not sure to me.
Master Barliman, I read somewhere that a brekafast for ready for me ? Please bring also some drinks to fellows who visit us today. No celebration, just me being happy to see people.
à votre santé !
Kschink..

"Kschink" will always get my attention, Master Warden.

Huoommm ... let's have a drink ... huomm ... as for the riddle, it's not The Man, at least not that I know of ... hoomm ... and has got nothing to do with Phaeton-Design ... hoommm ... your list is correct, Master Milo ...

A beer, please!
Master Theobald, you wanted to know all possible or future changes in the "The House of Michel Delving Mathom". You signed to feel responsible for part of the MMP and that you would like to know the oppinion of Gildor to this respect.
By the way, we don´t know the years that has the wooden chair M113. Perhaps it is older than Strider, which would be the oldest person sitting in the Prancing Pony.
Hip! Pardon. Another beer, please......

For the chair, it is a sit, not "sitting".
Really this riddle is very difficult.
Yes indeed Strider could be the oldest sitting, but Master Theoden speaks about older... the 2nd Card player is an elf. So who knows how old he is ?
Offline
Huoommmm ... oh my ... I was wrong putting that riddle ... hom ... I hope you can forgive me, but I was so wrong ... huom ... I thought the second cardplayer was the Dunlending warrior M9 ... huom ... I just had a closer look at the two figures .... he's definitely not ... rhuommm ... I'm afraid I'm growing old ... now have to make haste to find a better question .... just a moment, please, and, please forgive me .... huoommm ...

Huooommm .... thank you for your laughter, Master Milo, ... huom ... now here's a better question that might be answered, in case you haven't lost interest .... huoomm ... "Who is supposed to have said, "The trees, the disease!"" .... huom ... ? ....
Offline
mmhh I suppose there is a trick here
because at first glance I'd say Radagast... but not from the books... and only from the trailer I just saw recently (though I rather think he says "the trees!!! they're diseased!!"
Now I wonder how much tolkien lore sir McCoy knows about Tolkien but in this 13min presentation of the Hobbit he himself mentions he is one of the FIVE wizards... considering that the fact there are five Istari... is not common knowledge outside tolkien fans , active readers and communities... that would mean that at some point or another ,the fact there are 5 wizards appeared in the script of the movie...
does it mean we MAY see Palando and Alatar appear (un-named but visually) when they'll release the part when the white council and its allies throw down Sauron from Dol Guldur??? After all, they could ... but that would seem odd.
Offline
now I could maybe share a riddle or two but first it would be good to know if it is tolkien oriented or mithril oriented
Offline
Huuoooommmm ... no problem, the riddle is about Mithril miniatures and still is the same as before ... rhuuômmm ... I was a bit too hasty and got things mixed up ... huoommm ... our dear Master Turambar helped me out some minutes ago ... huomm ... I should have known that he, who is a brilliant observer of many things, couldn't have been wrong .... rhuoommm .... of course there's a point for you, Master Gildor, for having answered my riddle, which was done in a hurry .... but, still my first question has not been answered correctly, though Master Milo seems to have been on a right track in between .... huom ... to put it clearly:
"Who is that older chap, who's sitting in the Prancing Pony?"
.... huoomm ... so just shame on my declining memory and many thanks to Master Turambar, who once put me that riddle I couldn't answer myself until he told me ... rhuoommm ... and he was absolutely right ..... hhuuoooomrhuôômm .... so just try to concentrate your brain cells and eyes on the same question again, please .... huommm ... I'm smiling ....hom
