Re: THE TAPROOM 2

I NEVER would consider you as a furniture, Master Ent and Master Twrich, I didn't want to disturb you, but I drink a glass (or rather a bowl for you) with you with pleasure big_smile

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Well, the futniture in the Pony IS made of wood, Master Tree, and Master Twrich's attire IS the colour of dust and must, so you both tend to blend in with the surroundings rather well. This is the only reason you get ignored so often. Besides, I'm not even sure that the Ranger is actually here - I haven't stumbled over his feet for a while.

Well, the first siting of Legolas and Gimli on horseback shows it to be a very nice figure indeed. I shall look forward to getting it.

Also nice to have the Hobbit series of figures confirmed!

Looks like being a good year!

How busy are today!
Well, a cool drink for me too. This weekend I will start painting my MB300 Balrog. Many years have definitely unpainted and I decided to paint it now. I have a small project in mind, well it is a good help for some friends ...... Not a diorama........  you'll see wink

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Sorry, I don´t agree with Sevlag and Master Barliman concerning the forthcoming MS release.
The horse: It is the same one as MS460. A pitty- in my oppinion.
This horse- and no doubt: it is the best horse ever sculpted by Mr. Tubb- is "Felarof". And not "Arod".
If horses are concrete named, Mr. Tubb should sculpt different ones. Even if the running poses of different horeses could look very close . . .

Better look carefully. Sometimes it would help.
And don´t forget: Always fighting against mediocrity!

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Well I don't personally give a monkey's (Bree expression) whether it's the same horse or not - it's a finely sculpted horse, and contributes to the overall quality of an excellent figure, and there's nothing mediocre about it. And I did look carefully, and my reaction was (and remains) that it's a fine-looking MS.

Yes, a different horse might have added variety, but as a collector of wargame figures I'm perhaps more accustomed to, and more tolerant of, the postures of horses being the same from figure to figure than you are. More demanding collectors are likely to be less tolerant and more critical - it's really a case of "horses for courses," as we say here in Bree (and please forgive the pun).

The Man has used identical postures for other figures before now, of course - though it's usually camouflaged by the fact that they're wearing different clothes (it's a bit more obvious with a horse, since they have the cheek to run around naked).

When all's said and done, "a horse is a horse is a horse" (ah, the Bree expressions just keep on coming...).

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Furniture? Master Barliman! And Dust and Must? Oh well, I guess that isn't too far off the mark.

I have been gone a little while, but I have caught up on all the gossip here at the Pony, and will enjoy an ale and a smoke here in a dark, comfortable corner,

Master Tree, please have a bowl of that clear tasty liquid.

Barli, here are the coiny things for our beverages!

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Good morning, Master Ranger. Nob is about to do the dusting and sweeping, so to be sure that he doesn't fall over you, or mistake you for a deep shadow, you'll need to move occasionally.

I'm afraid the sun's not over the yardarm here in Bree, so I can't sell you any alcoholic beverages, but we serve a fine line of herbal concoctions. Ragwort, pignut and nettle is highly recommended by those who survive it.
