Greeting Mithril friends. My wife and I go on vacation for two week starting today. So that dark corner I like so much here in the Pony may be empty from time to time. I will do my best to check in once in a while, and reveal details of our travels.

Well, this idea of having your own likeness on a Mithril figure is an interesting wheeze (as we say in Bree, though I dobnt that it translates). But it begs the question "What people of Middle-earth do we see ourselves as representing?" Well I for one could certainly be a Dwarf, and I know that one or two of our other regulars could be too. (And yes, before anyone mentions it, I know JRRT doesn't mention me having a beard, but it's a long time since he popped into the Pony, and beards grow quite fast, especially when they're nourished by my wholesome scrumpy).

So, gentlemen, how do you see yourselves?

Regarding the proposal of Master Barliman, I have knob, I am thin and pale skin, green eyes and with a red-brown hair. I like dwarves, but I think I'm more like a common man of North....

Master Turambar, of course, in my house we have not been very "original" with the name of the children. The first: Maria Jose, as the mother. The second: Ignacio, as the father ...... It is very useful when calling at home. We all respond ......

By the way, the dog is called Sauron (why I would put that name?).....

Er, I don't know what you intended to say, Master E., but in Bree dialect, the word "knob" means, in terms of physical descriptions, something....(ahem) rude. Let's just say I'm glad you have one, but you, er, you wouldn't want to show it to a young lady - unless you wanted to get arrested, of course.

I don´t know how to say in Bree dialect that pile of hairs above and below the mouth.
I looked in the dictionary and it appears "that" ...... Should I burn my dictionary?

O.K.! Thank you, Master Barli. Sounds simple and easy. I know what it's called in Bree dialect the part of my body that is filled with beer foam ..... ahem ....... I have thirsty, are a pint of beer, please?
