Concerning the knights of Dol Amroth:

With a new homestead (to put all my beloved figures in) and being very busy with a double-full time job I will not manage to even order those knights -  so I think i cannot participate in the painting competition if Mithril does not give us more time. I even find it hard to pay 122,- euro for some lead at the moment.

I think Micheal has listened to Wendy's plea and will extend the deadline to January. big_smile

The man seems to have missed the Vorondil suggestion from the final list for this round of GF suggestions yikes, I wonder why?

Re: The Taproom

Not at all Wendy, it means I can relax a bit now and finish them off at a more leisurely pace smile

I still want to get them finished as soon as possible though 'cos I do start to lose interest after a while - Kudos to those who are painting armies up (Gavin & Estelle[?]), I could never handle that volume.

Hopefully I shall be able to post some in-progress shots soon though.

I'm dreading the eventual release of the Easterlings though:D, all those horses to paint, lol.

Huoommm ... painting you say ... hom ... yes, I still remember having done that ... more or less enthusiastically .... rhuoomm ... by now I have to confess that I didn't even have finished the M10-Lady I started to paint in January last year (2007) .... rhuoommm ... hom ... it's a matter of time to spend on what? ... hommm ... that's why I simply chose to restrict on collecting, as it means much less effort .... huoomm ... as sometimes there are also different things in life urging to be considered .... if you know what I mean ... hom.

I had put a warning about this in the Ebay section Estel but thanks to post it here too smile

Chris had asked me to broadcast such info on this forum now so in the future I think that I will be able to post future "chris tubb sales" on the Marketplace of tharbad section smile

Re: The Taproom

Huooomm ...rhuooo mmmm ... hom ... this barkeep seems to have abandoned us completely ... rhuoommm ... I really do hope he's well .... huooommm ...

yes, you did announce that 'Dwarven-sale' at the right place, Master Gildor .... besides, Master Estel, you did it too elsewhere ... rhuomm which was here ... hom ... alas, no matter where you put it, it is alright, as I'm still sure in The Man's concern to let serious collectors know about future releases being offered on Ebay ... rhuoommm ... the fact that Master Gildor Inglorion has been offered the opportunity to announce these, and maybe further releases, on this site gives me a good feeling ... rhhhuooouommm ... as it seems that this site has proved to be worth of its existence since it was organized nearly a year ago ...... huoommmm ... just keep on everybody, please .... rhuuoommm

I don't know, I leave a message posted on a little yellow bit of paper on the bar and the tree doesn't see it - I've been away, Master Tree, away travelling! But I'm back now. Found one or two fine ales whilst wandering in foreign climes, that our friends from the other side of the Pond may know about  - Youngeling, and Purple Haze, both very nice indeed. I may get a supply for the Pony.

I'm sorry those wretched orc wall-scrawlers got in again whilst I was out. But I did ask Nob to keep an eye open for them, and I see they've been ejected now. Trouble is, I expect they'll be back. The world is full of them.

Anyway, I must go and try to get some sleep now - my brain's internal clock is all over the place at the moment and needs rewinding...

Re: The Taproom

Well, it has been awhile since I have been here. Those long rides across Rohan can take a long time. Hunting those orcs can be a daunting task! Anyway it is good to come here and have a scrumpy to wet my mouth. Barli, give me your best drink! Oh, and hello everyone!smile

Re: The Taproom

Nice to see people popping in again. It's also good to see (now that I've had time to read some of my mail) that The Man is finally putting the next group of verically challenged gentlemen up on eBay this weekend. I assume everyone is aware of this?

Re: The Taproom

Well done, Master Elf. I haven't had a chance to look round everywhere yet to see what's been going on - I'm still way too weary. I think I'm getting too old for all this globe-trotting...

Re: The Taproom

Huooommm .... I just had a look at the Arnor knight .... alas, I'm afraid his horse might cause the same trouble as Theoden's horse ...  huoommm ...it's the same pose ... and I cut away the metal between foreleg and base .... rhuoommm .... nice figures though ....

Hi all

See if you can click on this: some GW LOTR figures (and some Mithrils) in a test photo session:

Re: The Taproom

Some nice figures there Gavin, the patience of a saint painting that lot big_smile, I'm struggling with the DA dudes!

Nice to see you back from your travels Barli, no time to put your feet up, uh!

Some SALUTE 2009 news. I just logged onto the site and it would appear that there will be NO Mithril/CT figure next year. The 'freebie' is a Zulu war vignette by someone else.

I didn't have a god look elsewhere, but when I get a bit of time I'll browse through.

Re: The Taproom

There will be "proper" photos of the scene coming soon, which I'll share with you all well, uhm, properly. (Need to go outside, you see, and get some good overcast natural light, and its cold, and and and and...)

Particular attention will be paid to the mithril figures in the group.

Too bad about the lack of a Salute figure, though.

Gavin

Re: The Taproom

I wonder why no Salute Mithril this time? - it seems likely it will simply be that pressure on The Man's available time has rendered it impossible (we know he's been a bit pushed all year), but out of interest I'll ask my Salute contact and see what he says.

Re: The Taproom

Rhuuuoooommmm ... I unpacked those two figures yesterday .... huoommm ... wonderful pieces they are both .... the pose of Theodred's horse reminds me a bit of Imrahil's horse ... hom ... the rider, Theoden's son, is perfect in those details we appreciate so much .... huoommm ... then I have to confess that I always disliked the Witch-King as he was portrayed in the pictures provided by Mithril .... rhhuoooooommmmmm .... I was wrong .... once his left arm is assembled it gives the figure a three-dimensional appearance those photos could not provide ... hommm ... first I thought I had bought a figure which I do not like (in terms as a collector, so to say) .... but now I have started to like him ....
rhuoommmm ... by now I have started to get control of this machine trying to find out what 21 GMT matches the time here .... huoommm .... for those also being interested in the auction later this day I will try to provide some help .... rhuooommmm ... just a moment, please .....
