Master Milo,
Take care my colleague. I hope that you get well as soon as possible.
Best regards.

Huooommm ... er, as for an entirely different matter I just saw that there was a draw in the votings for the MS-figures ... huom ... just 29 voters ... rhuôm ... that's a shame ... or was it simply because of the suggestions being made? ... anyway, I wonder which one of those two will be declared winner for Nov1013 ... huoooooo mmmm ... ???? ... Nov2013? ... Nov2012? ...
oh, and yes, for all those who still keep wondering about the fate of the Nov2012 winning suggestion I can assure you that it is not forgotten ... huom ... it's nearly finished, as I heard today ... huooommmm ... so, why haste ? ... good things take time, as some people in Bree use to say ... huom ...

I've forgotten what the Nov 2012 winner actually was.
As for this November - well, I don't know what to say about the pied swans; but my views of such matters are a matter of record by now, so I probably don't need to say anything. I assume the final choice is up to The Man, since he has the casting vote.

I would say I vote for a proposition not so common in Mithril range
Anyway both will suit me and I bet the other one will win soon.
Offline
Fair enough, but I like my Mithrils to have something to do with Tolkien rather than ICE's distorted interpretation of Middle-earth (at least, I'm assuming that the pied swans are from ICE - are they?).
Offline
I think so but swans appears many times in tolkien stories
- Ossë sent "many strong-winged swans" to draw the ships of the Teleri
- Ulmo sent seven great swans to guide Tuor
- The swan-form ships
- Symbol of the Swan-knights of Dol Amroth
...

So just imagine the swans as one of the above and not a ICE interpretation ...

As I said above, my views on this subject are well known, and I've voiced my opinion a boring number of times before. We all vote for the figures we want to see, but we aren't all necessarily going to like everything that wins, and happily we don't have to buy them if we don't like them.

huoommm ... first of all, let me tell you that I can get along with both suggestions quite well ... rhuom ... indeed ... though, Master Barliman I do not share your point of view about necessarily Tolkien-related-and- canon-things, as you do know ... rhuom ... maybe that's why you forgot about the Haradan musician I suggested in Nov2012 to add some music to the Haradan noble and the bellydancer to enable people to have a nice diorama, if they want to ... huommm ... the old wealthy trader, the caravan guards and many other figures of the old "below-hundred" figures might also match well within certain concepts ...huom
Master Gildor once wasn't sure about who was Nov2012 and who was Dec2012 ... rhuom ... that has been settled by now ... hom ... to me it is important of having a kind of coherence with those very old releases combined with some new ones ... hooom ... but I'm arguing from the point of view of a collector, rather than a war-gamer or an army-builder ... hm .. I'm sure you understand what I want to say .... rhuomm ...
Alas ... let's have a drink of that old scrumpy and, please a large bowl of healthy chicken-soup for Master Milo, best he could swallow at the moment, as it helps recovery very much ... huom ... no, Master Barliman, chicken-soup I said, as swan-soup is a bit too heavy for the stomach ... rhuom ...

Hopefully dear Innkeeper.
But as a fanatic obsessed collector, I will buy every CT piece of art
... and swan is far better roasted

You can have a pint of scrumpy, Master Tree. I'll have a pint of grumpy.
Swan isn't cooked here, Mster M. - the damn things are too large to fit in the oven.

I'm sure this is on THAT company's web site, but this link was on TheOneRing site

Not sure if it should be posted here or in the Movie thread, but anyhow!

Yes, saw all the latest pre-orders on the GW website earlier today when I was doing a Desolation of Smaug Internet trawl. As you know, I have chums who work there, and I'm usually prepared to acknowledge that the company can produce nice figures when they put their minds to it, but alas, this isn't one of those occasions. The barrelled Dwarves are amusing, but the rest of the figures are by and large very poor – the Elf guards look as if their heads have been sat on (take a look at the GW website and you'll see what I mean). The only figure I may buy is Thranduil, whose ethereal pose rather appeals to me.

I note, by the way, that the GW figures include a "Thrain the broken", so clearly the movie is going to show us Gandalf's encounter with him in Dol Guldur back in the past.

alas ... Master Ddaines that will support me bad dreams tonight well ... rhuôm ... so let me thank you very much for that ...
er ... sorry ... Master Barliman, what is that "Grumpy" you prefer? ... huom is it a rare Breeish brew you always kept from us, or is it a new one that has not been fermented well? ... huomm ... and what about the price for a bowl of that? ...
Offline
Grumpy? I have barrels and barrels of it, Masster Tree, which you can share with me if it's to your liking. It's also a good name for a Dwarf, I'm told.

I´d liked to paint those miniatures produced by mithril.
But mithril doesn´ t produce any miniatures relating to the big film event this winter.

+1 THAT's what I ask myself also......

Mithril had plans to release a new Hobbit box set with ten characters, this would seem the best time to release it, before Christmas and during the release of the 2nd movie. I have not heard any update about what happened to the plan.
Offline
Good point. I'd forgotten alll about that. I suspect Mithril have as well.
Offline
Certainly they do. Typical for a miniature-factory who doesn´t want to sell miniatures . . .

During my visit at the factory, we discussed that point. The Hobbit movie will not increase Mithril sells, people wants to find out characters as in the movie, not PA and CT interpretation of Tolkien work. So GW and other NewLine cinema patents will benefit from it

I am not satisfied with this answer.
The Arkenstone vignette is the only example of releasing Hobbit-film-or-not-related miniatures.
There could be many others, though it is known that these film-events will start not only since four months.
( . . . hey Lars, look at this really big wave . . . let´s sail on it . . . )
Meanwhiling I feel a bit tired about those "problems".

Useless discussion about mithril selling policy... again... unfortunately we would not have new hobbit figures on market soon... also new GF figures and probably Christmas figure this year... necromancer's tower is also on waiting list... this was poor year for Mithril figurines market.....
