Re: The Taproom

Well they sold somewhat more slowly than the previous 'uniques', despite the higher price (£65) being reduced by current exchange rates that highly favour the dollar and euro. I couldn't afford them myself, but it seemed to me that a number of other 'usual suspects' were also missing from the list of buyers. Dritz, of course, bought 5, which will doubtless appear on eBay at an inflated price in the near future.

Putting that excitement aside, I had a communique from The Man over the weekend, and there's both bad news and good news.

The bad news first. It seems that the Easterlings are going to be further delayed whilst the possibility of releasing them with separate horses and riders is investigated. Chris wants them released that way, but economics favour them being moulded on to their horses. It remains to be seen whether art or commerce prevails!

The good news, though, is that another M range is already completed and will be released in place of the delayed Easterlings. The only problem is...I'm not allowed to tell you what it is! Sorry about that - but I've seen the figures and they are simply superb.

If you don't hear from me again it will be because Chris has cut out my tongue for revealing even this much. (I'm going down to hide in the cellar now, but don't tell him if he comes looking for me.)

Usually Chris places his trust on good people master inkeeper smile Besides all answers will happen in time. I'm sure he would not mind revealing info on this forum as we are all serious collectors but the Prancing Pony is public and that's a big problem...

Re: The Taproom

Which is why, of course, I've been so careful regarding what I've said! Presumably the rumours which already existed regarding a mysterious upcoming M range refer to this same new release - which means that it's even possible that other people in the taproom already know at least as much as I do, if not more...

Oooh, I'm excited.

Wouldn't it be nice if a certain wilderness region and former kingdom of Arnor was involved?

No, I'm afraid that I can't be bought, bribed, cajoled, forced, bullied, tricked, hoodwinked, coerced, prevailed upon, compelled, blackmailed or otherwise persuaded to say more than I have.

I would just like to point out gentlemen that we should accept and respect the desire of non-disclosure of the Man. It will be announced in time smile May I remind you, (maybe you did not know it) that the Man is reading this forum smile

Re: The Taproom

Well, perhaps I personally am a little relieved that the Easterlings are delayed only because those DA Dudes are taking so much time hmm and I really can't handle more horsemen at the moment (assuming it is not  a mounted range).

Did Micheal himself though not say that the new range details were to be released shortly? I know a Mithril short while is perhaps the equivalent of an Entish week, but I got the impression news was iminent.

Still, we'll know soon enough so don't you go getting a loose tongue Barli, there may be folk who will ply you with 'loaded' drinks to make your tongue wag big_smile

I did notice as I perused the user list to see if there were any "real" people signed up who needed the "real" person title.  Welcome!  smile

Re: The Taproom

Hello everyone! I'm back once more with a laptop. My desktop thought he had to convert itself into a melting pot....

Due to much happening at the time I missed the dwarf auction.  mad

Is there one of you who bought more then one set and is willing to part from one???

No thanks Dritz, I think 65 GBP is enough! smile

Huooommm .... yes,yes .... hom ... why haste everything ... rhuoommm ... what good is it to know what will be (or might not be) ... huoomm ... does it really matter those events coming in between? ... rhuoommm ... or those others hampering the ones before? ... huoomm ...
mind please that haste is not all there is .... rhuoomm ... isn't there more about to sit back and enjoy what there is than rather let your minds flow about what there isn't? ... huuuoomrhuom ...
.... though I really enjoyed some rumours being offered at this place .... rhuoommm ...
well, to be honest, some of them I fed at the beginning of this new room .... rhuooommm and will keep on hom  ............................. hom.

Re: The Taproom

Rhuooooooooooooommmm ..... Master Caster, you are wrong, meseems ... it wasn't Drizz offering you those fine dwarven metal pieces for 65 , as Drizz bought five sets of them I'm sure he wouldn't let them go less than that price but rather tries to get more money out of that ... rhuoommm ... he still sticks to offer his few (incomplete) sets of the Saruman Army he has  - as we've seen in the least weeks or months ... rhuoommm .... but ... rhuoomm ... I will not judge about this .... huooommm ... as I see things differently ... rhuoommm ... indeed I do.
Sorry for this so much philosophising around here .... rhuoommm.
.... need a bowl of that clear clean water ... ney, not that honey-coloured-ambery-liquid .... hom.

Re: The Taproom

I'm always happy to start a new rumour, Master Tree - we get so few of them that have any merit or meaning. And I thought it might help people to understand why those long-awaited Easterlings must remain awaited for a while longer yet, and at the same time it will hopefully cheer them up to know that there is something new on the way very soon ('soon' being relative, of course, where Mithril are concerned...).

Those of us who don't live as long as Ents have cause to be hasty sometimes, alas! But I notice you always seem to drink your bowls of, er, water rather fast...

Re: The Taproom

Huoommm .... I meant no offence concerning your rumours, Master Barliman, ... huom ... though they rather seem to be incomplete facts .... rhuoomm ... you know that I always value a good rumour   ....  hoooommm ...
As for my drinking habits I might explain that my throat is a bit wider than the rim of your bowls, meseems .... huommm ... so it's rather more a matter of diameter than of haste ...... huuooooommmmm ... hom

What does the Ranger smoke in that pipe anyway? Does anyone know? (I have my suspicions, especially when he chuckles like that.)

Oh, by the way, the reason for no Salute Mithril next year is simply that John Treadaway is no longer in charge of the show's organisation. Shame.

Re: The Taproom

Why, Barli, it is long-bottom leaf of course. And you should know, as Nob was the one who sold me a bag of it from your stores! And at a rather hefty price, I might add; certainly more expensive (not that you charge him full price) than a dozen bowls of that spiced water you've been selling to our Master Ent!

On another note, I find the best rumours lately to come from the east.
