Hi Master brewer

A good breakfast before starting the festivities tonight ... and a bowl of coffee mixed up with whiskey and an egg

. . .the fish is been eating, the meat is been eating, the ice cream is gone, the wine is empty, the store of Golden Dwarf coctail is closed,
the dwarves are gone . . .
So for me- left here- it is turn to say: A Happy New Year to all of you friendly fellows!

Time to have some pillow talk . . .

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Yes, a Happy New Year to you all, gentlemen!

(PS. Merely in the interests of further improving your very excellent Westron, Master Archer, you might like to know that what you've written as "is been eating" should actually be rendered "has been eaten". Yes, I know, Westron is a daft language, and yet your version of it is still vastly superior to that of the average Bree school-leaver...)

(PPS. Have you folk decided on any New Year resolutions?)

(PPPS. Make sure that it's the real Strider....no, hang on, I think I'm getting confused with another list I was supposed to remember.....)

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Ah, yes, ahem, I should have said Happy New Year to the few ladies amongst us as well. And the trees. A very rude slip on my part.... I should have just said "Happy New Year to everyone!"

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

huoommm ... you're not rude at all, Master Barliman, keeper of bartaps, not at all ... rhuom ... it's just that you sometimes are too much focused on the regulars that pay, which are non-trees and not very often female, as far as I know ... huoommm ...
anyway ... that's settled, isn't it. ... huommm ...I dare to comment on your latest postsciptums, if you don't mind, please ...huom

First: Westron indeed is a rather difficult tongue to be used accordingly, isn't it.  hoom ... So, if you just put one or two words right that means "a fish is (still) being eaten" ... huoommm ... er, which means ... rhuommm ... must be some of that Lossoth-food meseems ...

Second ... rhuom ... according to your second postscribtum ... huom ... nay, I haven't, as good resolutions don't work and can turn out to be a  resolution of swelling and be put aside each and any day ... huoommm ... better to have plans, or at least concepts ... hooomm .... I hope this answers your query about this matter ....hom ...

Third: ... huom ... he's not the "real Strider", as everyone knows, because there never was one ... huom ... though ... if you refer to the Man in the Dark ... huomm ... he's not only sitting around in the "Pony" and smoking his pipe and drinking a beer, as far as I know ...  huooommmm .....

Huooommmm .... at least everyone around here has noticed by now, that my resolution for 2014 was not to become less talkative .... rhûom ... though I'm not sure if that would not have been a much more wiser and better decision ... huoommm ...

Hoommm ... alas, all of you know how much time it takes for an Ent to decide and most of you know about the way Ents describe, what you call simple matters .... huommm ... so, I stop talking for today, at least ... hom ... ? ... Huom ... rhuommm !!!  ... mind the number on the left, please ... and again wishing everybody around here a good what's left here of 14 .... huoommm ...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

Not sure I understand your comment re my comment on correct Westron, but that's the ambiguity of language for you.

And I'm shocked by your news that there never was a real Strider! Do you mean the alleged Ranger who escorted Frodo from Bree was an imposter? How dreadful! I assume he was one of those criminals who steal other people's personalities - I've heard about them. Luckily I don't think Strider carried any credit cards worth clonling, and even if he did, there aren't many cash machines between Bree and Rivendell.

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

huommm ... maybe I got you wrong before, Master Barliman, and sorry for that .... huoommm ... it's just because I was lazying around here as it wasn't  busy ... huoommm ... as for the Strider, it was just a jest, you know .... rhuom ... though, mind please that somewhere there's always a hole in the wall, might be even in Bree or Rivendell... huom .... hooommm ... besides, language is not ambiguous, just some words are ... rhu°om ...

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

A Happy and prosperous New Year to one and all, not sure that I want to celebrate with a Golden Dwarf cocktail, but having watched naked dwarves dancing in the fountains of Rivendell (extended DVD in case you thought I have had too much Scrumpy wink) I might just need one or two!!

Let's see what 2014 brings, hopefully a bit more from the hands of CT wink.

THERE IT IS: FIRST GOOD NEWS OF THE YEAR !!!!

Concerning this Westron matters I have to say, I do NOT use those translation thingies, just use what the teacher teached me in school . . .
( I still must have some lumps of the chalk pieces he used throwing into my direction . . . )

That shivers a bit after consuming six Golden Dwarf cocktails . . .  cool

Your Westron teacher clearly wasn't as aggressive as my French teacher. I still have dents in my head from the rulers and blackboard erasers he used to throw at me......

Happy new year everyone !  big_smile
(very late, but waking up was quite hard...nit only because of this Dwarf cocktail)

Master Barliman, you shall visit my place for improving your french. And if I cannot help you, Ms Milo being an english teacher, I'm sure she will explain it the right way.
Easiest way to improve: All important words to know about are related to food, drinks, friendship... and nearby my place also a little of game with an oval ball. roll

Re: THE TAPROOM 2

A nice idea, but it would be an hopeless quest, Master M. My linguistic talents were zero even when I had a memory. Actually, less than zero. And now I've got to the point in life where I find it difficult to remember words even in my own language. Indeed, most of my memory brain cells have called it a day and jumped ship.
