Well, considering it looks like GW is finally drifting out of Middle-earth - the first releases for the third Hobbit film are all in their hated and overpriced finecast, which suggests lots of Low Rate of Production models, not the long term investment plastic models - it does mean that there may be a market that Mithril could chase aggressively.
It struck me that GW's Hobbit range was effectively a collector's range - a bunch of high cost, supposedly high quality miniatures, aimed at a high end market of mature collectors. Note the ratio between the expensive Finecast and the somewhat cheaper plastics. GW had in general eclipsed Mithril's costs (or almost done so) - so now its a competition between design and quality. And GW is at a disadvantage there too.
Now might be a good time to push Mithril's brand somehow.

well Gavin, that is what they plan to do. They don't intend to 3D print final cast, but to 3Dprint the 'model' which would then be used to generate masters I suppose
but this also means they can reproduce masters anytime they want by reproducing the model precisely identical.
this also reduces costs I suppose as they are not force to "make do" with the lifetime of a master.

Those are great news to know Gildor, I did not knew they where starting to walk into a new and maybe better direction. Thank you for sharing that info, puts a bit of light on my heart about mithril.

Baba Jaga or as is writen on GW link on their picture Baba Yaga is mythical character from animistic Slavic mythology. Mentions in the old Croatian pre-Christian literature....
Grrrr. baba Jaga will come to take you.... this Baba Yaga looks to modern for old stories...

yeah well I have always pronounced "baba yaga" in France or in english (it is well known too in mythical characters if you want to search a bit
) even in France
@Maenas : well I don't know how they precisely plan to do it themselves, but I have been talking to Chris about 3D modelling and I have shared a bit of this on Angrenost I think ... He has taken courses to be quite operational with this technology. (He told me he would show me some of his 3D work but I have not received any so far)
